Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

- cheeringmom - It is funny that you mention Knotts Scary Farms. The first year I visited Disneyland as an adult (1998 or 1999 - right after I moved out west) was was halloween weekend. Disneyland was a ghost town. Crowds were wonderful - particularly at night.
wasn't the hanging at midnight so real looking??? It was a great place to take a date when we were younger. Of course we all played scared!! heheheh And love the mine ride. Do they still have that? It has been years...but I do remember walking around the ghost town and vampires and zombies jumping out at us. so much fun.

DanaUK - If you go to Universal you will have to give me your thoughts. My DH wants to go to ride the Simpsons ride, so we are planning a day there in October. The last time I was there - it was just a studio tour (1979) and I remember really liking it. But I was a little older than my girls (6th grade vs 2nd and K). I have been watching videos on youtube and the studio tram seems to have more scary things in it than when I went.

We are going to Universal and doing the VIP tour (it is one of the things I am probably most looking forward to, I watch Desperate Housewives and am looking forward to seeing the set!! I'll definately be doing a trip report when I get back with some pics!!

Hey.....I have a question.......

SLO what a crazy night for you!!!! I am so afraid of tornados. We get scares here in FL but not too often. No basement for us. If there is a tornado, we are in the tub!!!
Dana, it will be nice to come home to a finished house. I know what a relief it was to be done with our addition. Now if we could just get the energy to finish the rest of the house.....

Geffric, hang in there. Nine more days!! hooray! I would think of returning the glasses too. You don't want to be miserable on the cruise!

ibounce, have not tried Bonine. I did the patch last time and I was so out of it. Too tired to do anything. Don't want that again. I may try Bonine a week or so before to see the side effects. of course I won't be able to see if it will help with motion sickness but will see how tired it makes me!

Have a good day all.

The thought of tornados scare me too, but Stephanie is mortified of tornados. She shakes like she is freezing whenever the tornado siren goes off. Whenever there is really bad weather, I have to always make sure I am staying, and acting, as calm as possible, for her benefit. Thank goodness we've never had a tornado, because if we did, I can't imagine how she would be for the rest of her life.

Now Disneyland it trying to keep those crowds. It has become more and more fall/halloween like. And more and more crowded. But still nothing like Knotts. On our arrival to one of our most recent trips to California - we missed an exit - and ended up near Knotts. The lines to park were huge. We were afraid we were going to get trapped - but we were able to turn around.

Slo - sorry the weather is so bad. Hang in there.
Thanks!!!
We got a good nights sleep last night, because we had quiet:)
Kevin was in bed sleeping by 8pm - he was totally exhausted!!!! :faint:

yeah! you guys should have a blast!! I am actually looking for a hotel to book for our first night. I have been reading about hotels that will shuttle you to the port and you can park in the the hotel lot for free? Know anything abut that??

RRBB I love Waldo. My son dressd up as Waldo for his senior panoramic. At first he got in trouble but they didn't know he had his hat and glasses in his pocket and when they snapped...wala-Where's Waldo. His buddy dressed up like the Wizard but they made him change. It is a fun memory when you look at the yearbook. Wish I had a picture to share......

stuff going on today. I need to get off my lazy butt and start getting the rooms ready for my college kids. Sam gets home from NY on Saturday and Tom gets home from UF on Friday. I am so excited...

Slo--I'm glad that y'all are okay. We are tornado prone here, but no warning sirens are used in our town.

Geffric---I chatted with Winotracy during Wed. chat. Can you get her to phone the podcast line during the cruise to do a mini-report? Its would be free using the toll-free line even in Mexico. :)

Danauk--I'm so excited for you---it sounds like an awesome trip.

That's scary that your town has no tornado sirens  We have several in our town, and they go off when there is a tornado warning, or when someone spots a funnel cloud and calls it in. I am so grateful for that siren, because without it, I would never know when to go to the basement.

Evening all!!

Slo Those tornados sound terrifying, do you get many each year? Us Brits may moan about the weather, but all we get is rain (and a lot of it, it has rained for the past 4 days and is forcast to continue for the next week!!), but we don't get tornados or many earthquakes (I have only experienced 3 in my life, 2 of those in the last 6 years).

NCBelle Your trip will be here soon, I hope you have a fab trip as well.

Geffric I hope your last few days at work pass quickly, I can't believe we meet up in just over a week!!!

Everyone else Hi!!

Today I spent the day doing my pre trip house clean!! I did a total spring clean, I don't want my parents staying in a messy unclean house!! The bathroom is done apart from the panel for the side of the bath which has taken me 3 days to make (I hate waiting for the adhesive and grout to dry!) and that will be fitted in the morning. I can't believe we have finally finished it all, just in time for us going away. I hope my parents like it!!

I also got packed today, I'm amazed I managed to fit everything into 2 cases plus our hand luggage. I'm glad we are flying in the premium cabin though as my suitcases would have been too heavy for the ecomony alowence!! I did pack a small case though and put that inside a larger case so I have a large spare suitcase for things I buy out there!! Luckily we are allowed 2 cases each at 70lb.

Right, I think I have deserved a sit down in front of the TV!!

:surfweb:

I have a busy day today
I have to get the girls to school by 8am (they both have field trips today. Katie is going to The Shedd Aquarium and Steph is going to a place called The Enchanted Castle (an arcade)), and then I'm going to work for a short bit, and then I'm going out to lunch with some out of town relatives, and then I have to get the girls and come home to clean house in case these relatives come over tomorrow night. Never a dull moment today!!!!

Danauk - We do have our tornado sirens go off several times during the spring/summer season ::yes:: One tornado touched down, and did a lot of damage to homes, in a town 15 minutes away from my house, during that storm on Monday. It can be scary at times!!:scared1:
**I bet you are getting so excited for your trip - how fun!!!:yay: :yay:

Well, I gotta go jump in the shower, and then brace myself to get the girls up early - I know they'll be crabby!!!!:headache: I'm not looking forward to Stephanie going back to school for this very reason.

Have a good day!!!

I am very excited about meeting you too.. Any pictures you can share of the new bathroom?

As SLO said we have tornado sirens that go off everytime there is a bad storm. when I lived in Kansas all of the houses had basements due to the tornados. Plus the sirens were huge and frequent so that when they went off there was no mistake it was a siren vs a car alarm. the police went down the street to warning everyone to take cover.. they were very serious about the tornados.. but then again several struck very close to where I lived so there was a reason to be concerned. Living in Chicago, i have only been through 1 tornado. most of them disapate (sp) before they hit the city. But we get tress down and power out about once or twice a year..

Good morning guys!!! One kid is ont he way home. Yipee! Will check back later

Whooooo, I've just completed online check in and printed off our boarding passes. This time tomorrow we will be in the air on our way to Disneyland!! The cases are all packed, the hand luggage packed and weighed (I had to do some moving around on that one!!) and we are all ready to leave our house at 5:30am tomorrow to drive to Heathrow.

I hope everyone has a great time whilst we are away. I'll see some of you guys next Saturday!! I'll be back in 3 weeks!!

HiThere.gif

Hi all.
I'm fine - Summer so far has been wholly uneventfully so far.
Sorry I've been MAI.
Paul and I are getting close to being able to book our DCL special "stuff"-
Spa - dinner in Palo - etc.

But gee it's like having a bevy of moms here -
Sorry to worry you all.
I know - I know I could have called - I should keep a dime in my shoe.
;)

DanaUK, have a FABULOUS trip and tell Mickey I'll see him in four weeks!

Gefric, have a FABULOUS trip and tell Captain Mickey I'll be back in a year!

Hope everyone is having and good weekend, and so glad you checked in Wally!

.

RRBB - okay you get a gold star for being quick with a Waldo picture.
Yes, but did you find him??? :rotfl:

Danauk, have a safe flight. We're looking forward to finally meeting you next weekend. (You'll have the opportunity to meet lots of other DISers, too, if you want. There's going to be a pre-cruise meet at the hotel restaurant at the same time we're there.)

Everyone else, hi. Now I'm off to start actual packing. Got most everything - except clothes - piled on the guest bedroom bed. Just need to figure best way to distribute the weight of it all. But between the 4 of us we can have 8 checked bags - if we need. So far I have a box ready to go with baby supplies - diapers, wipes, etc - for Sophia.

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: One week from right now we'll be ready to head to the port for boarding!!!!!

Danauk---have a safe trip!

:cheer2: 2 weeks until our trip. :)

NC Beast and I have been in training for Orlando's August heat (our heat pump broke down friday afternoon). :wizard: We hope that repairs won't hit the travel funds hard. We are just happy that we had no 100 or high 90s days this weekend.
