Wally - OMgosh, I had no idea that's what you were talking about:rotfl: I thought you were talking about a tablet, and I thought you were being creative by calling it Emergen-C:rotfl: So funny!!!!:rotfl2: In all seriousness, I've never heard of this before:sad2: I should look for it at Walgreens :thumbsup2
**I love your cat pirate too pirate:

Good morning Taglikans rainy and ycky today and of course I have a ton to do today. Hope you all have a safe one!

The Emergen-C is all over the place here. Frequently you can find the individual packets at gas stations and boxes of the packets at the grocery store in the medicine/vitamin section. I usually find it cheapest at the Frys/Kroger store - but I have heard it is usually even cheaper at the Trader Joe's. We just don't have Trader Joe's near the house (We have Albertsons, Safeway, Frys, Sprouts, and a Fresh and Easy all closer than the Trader Joe's)

Morning Taglikins!

Just a drive by hello....I actually slept 8 hours last night! :cool1: So, it's off to the shower for me.

SHER, go to work!

Don't make me use Mittens The Marauder over here too!

Hi everyone.
We are on lunch break now so I had a few moments to check in.

Friends are coming over after school today. The kids can play the Wii and the moms can visit. :thumbsup2 It is a rainy day here so there will be no going outside. However, I will be cooking, making gumbo. This is a good gumbo evening with the rain. (BTW, I am from south Louisiana. I was born and raised there until DH's job moved us in 2002.........so gumbo is one of my favorite foods! :thumbsup2)

Hey... I like it when you write mum and colour... it helps me invision what you actually sound like!

That made me laugh!! My accent is not all that strong (well I don't think so!) When I lived at home I had a definate Yorkshire accent, but now I have moved away my accent has changed and my friends from home say I sound posh! I certainly do not think so! However one thing that I am aware of when I visit the USA if I am not around other English people (so this doesn't happen at WDW!) I do sound very British, kind of how the queen talks! When we visited Las Vegas and didn't hear another British accent for over a week even I became aware of how ridiculous and English I sounded!!

Well this week has been fun packed at work again! My assistant has been off since Friday again and I'm not sure if she will be in tomorrow. Today and tomorrow we have parents evenings which makes for a long day. I'm happy though that nearly all my parents have signed up this year, usually I get less than half to speek to.
However my classroom at the moment is very hormonal (5 of my girls had their 1st period this week :scared1: :scared1: ) Usually the hormones don't kick in until the summer just before they leave for high school, but not this year!!

I did have some sad news today though. One of the lovely girls in my class's baby sister died yesterday. She had been very poorly since birth and wasn't expected to reach her 1st birthday but was almost 2. So it was expected, but very sad.

Oh well, I've just finished my marking so I think now I will head for a nice relaxing bath.
Have a great evening everyone.

I love BBC America especially Graham Norton and this show
How Clean Is Your House? so that brings me to my question-
What in heck is sugar soap and biological washing powder?
Do we have something equivalent over here in the US?

:sunny: Good morning!

We lost power last night for a little while---lot of wind gusts and rain.

I made NC B. some breakfast this morning...a rare treat for him.

BB - Thanks for the Emergen-C tip :)

Wally - That cat is still cracking me up pirate:

TLH - I hope you had a nice visit with your friends :goodvibes

Danauk - Reading your post about girls starting their periods, is very fitting in my life right now. Several of my friends and I have been talking about our girls starting to develop, and how we nervous about their periods starting. It's sorta funny how you posted this now.
**That's is very sad about that young girls sister passing away :guilty: I will keep that family in my thoughts and prayers

Belle - I'm glad you electricity wasn't out to long - that's never fun :sad2:

Well, I gotta run and get ready for work
It's Wednesday, which means it's bathroom day - I feel like I just cleaned them:rolleyes: These days are going by way to fast:sad2:
Have a good day today everyone!!!

I realized that we need to get some fresh batteries soon. NC Beast needs power at night for his cpap machine (sleep apnea). I did not rest much yet. I had to take Jessie out and made sure that nothing major happen to the house or property with the wind gusts.

Are these the people that use CocaCola to clean toilets?

Morniing taglikins! Well, I've gotten a few hours of overtime under my belt already, and lots of opportunity for more, as the end of the week is always busier that the beginning. Need the extra cash for when big sister comes to visit on the 14th, because heaven forbid I should have to dip into the $$ reserved for my cruise!

Have a good day boys and girls!

Kim and Aggie are very funny, I love How Clean Is Your House? too! You can even get washing up gloves like Kim weares over here now (with the fur around them!!) Sugar soap is really abrasive soap. It comes in a box of flakes that you disolve in water and you use it to clean walls and things to get lots of grime off before decorating. I have a box in my cupboard. Do you not have biological and non-biological washing products in the USA? Over here washing powder, tablets, capsules etc that you put in your machine are either biological or non-bio. They contain different cleaning agents. I know that I have to have non-bio as I am alergic to the other stuff!!

Do you watch Gordon Ramseys Kitchen Nightmares? I love that show! We have just started to have the US versions on our chanels over here. I really want to eat at his restaurant at Claridges for my birthday!

So what other British shows do you guys have on your networks? Have you seen the Harry Potter films? The platform at the station in London is the platform that our train often pulls in to when we go there by train. Also the Hogwarts station is the station on the steam railway near where I grew up and where my parents volunteer. The other station on the line is the one they use for the TV series Heartbeat (I think that is available in the US). There the whole village is the actual set for the show and my parents see them filming a lot.

So final question from me. Have any of you guys ever been on TV? I have a few times, but I'll explain that later!!
Right now I have literacy books to grade and maths work to analyse so I can prepare my class for their end of school exams!

Thanks for the explanations!

Yes we have @#*# Gordon bleep bleep bleep Ramseys @#*#ing Kitchen Nightmares. :rotfl:

I don't think we have those two kinds of soap? Bio and non bio.
