ER question... what is wrong with Dr. Carter?

I would like to see Abby return on more time to tie up that end. She just left and they were having marital problems. Are they happy now and still in Cruatia?

In the second episode of this season, Abby and Luka moved to Boston. They both got jobs there and had agreed they wanted a fresh start. This was their ending. On Thursday's ep, Carter and Sam spoke about them and John said he was glad to hear they were doing better.

I have seen rumors that Maura Tierney might make another appearance, later in the season.

I've watched the show since day one, and there have been ups and downs with the seasons, but this season definitely harkens back to the early years. I just love it, and I will be so sad to see it end. I cried like a baby when Mark Green died. Every time I hear that version of "Over the Rainbow," I am right back there with the episode. I cried when Pratt died. I was very sad to see Carter hooked back up to the dialysis machine last night. I wish they wouldn't bring him back just to have him die. That's too sad. I have loved all the guest spots, and I LOOOVE having Jerry back. Oh my gosh, I've missed him!

I don't think they're going to kill off Carter, not after Romano, Lucy, Green & Pratt, it's too much. I like the idea of Benton giving him a kidney.

Everyone keeps referring to Jerry coming back from Alaska.
I know he left, and then I saw him on "Men in Tree's", which was a show that used Alaska as it's location. And Jerry had a wife on the show. Are they suggesting the show as a cross-over, or is it an inside joke.

Lucy and Carter used to like each other and Lucy got stabbed and died and the same person stabbed Carter. It was a cliff hanger.

She was a medical student portrayed by actress Kellie Martin ("Life Goes On"), in the 5th and 6th seasons. I think she was one of the most underrated characters on the show, in its long history. She was killed in the same attack where John Carter incurred iternal injuries (presumably, to his kidney).

I'm so behind! How was did Pratt die?

There was an explosion, and a piece of shrapnel got stuck in his neck, and they didn't know it. He basically bled out, I think. You can see full episodes on NBC.com, but Pratt's episode has expired. I think it was one of the first episodes of the season. Ooo, just found you can but it on iTunes.

There's a couple of quick videos here - http://www.nbc.com/ER/video/categories/most-viewed/. The episode is "Life after Death."

ETA: not shrapnel - a piece of his jaw. I just watched the recap clip.

Hmm, I thought ER was over last season! LOL, shows you how much I've been watching.

I stopped watching ER *way* back when. . . I got tired of all the babies and children dying -- I was always crying. The last straw was the episode "Loves Labor Lost" where Dr. Greene performed the C-section on the mom who died. . . . OMG that was awful!

LOL. . .

It's an inside joke...and keeps me in stitches!!

What about Neela's deceased husband Michael?

i actually thought that this was one of the better story arcs in the whole series- and it hit rather close to home. I stopped watching after his funeral.

It's one of my favorite things on the show... their relationship. The other two are when Lucy and Carter are stabbed- I still have that on tape (I taped one of the re-runs from TNT) and the episode where Dr. Greene dies and the following one where County General gets the faxes, Greene and Corday's letters.

They very first episode is good also.

we taped thursdays epi, but it cut out on us half way thru. thank goodness nbc plays the videos on their site. i wondered though...were there previews for next week? do they not show the previews on nbc.com? and does anyone know, will there be new epis til the end...or are there some weeks with no er?

Boy, you really did stop watching WAY back when... that episode was in season 1 of ER.

I totally understand people not wanting to watch after that, but in many people's opinion, (mine included) that episode is one of the greatest (if not the single greatest) hours of drama ever produced for television.

In 1995 it was absolutely revolutionary in its impact, its bare honesty, it's willingness to NOT have a happy ending, and in the sheer excellence of it's execution.

The episode won 5 Emmy awards and is a big part of what established "ER" as a force on TV.

Didn't Jerry die on the show?

No, he got shot when Sam's ex escaped, but they pulled him through. I think Neela operated on him, but I don't remember for sure.

I thought I was the only one who still watches ER.. and I have since Season 1, Episode 1..... certain episodes have "jumped the shark" so to speak, but yet on Thursday nights, I still watch. I actually like Robert Rocket Romano - he made DH and myself laugh. Looking forward to the last few episodes...

You mean like the time he was killed by the helicopter in the ambulance bay after catching (scott grimes) smoking pot?
