Thank you all for the birthday wishes!
We're actually a couple weeks early... my actual birthday isn't until April 10th, but I always stretch it out anyway and this year it has even more significance to me. Plus, trying to work around people's schedules can be an adventure! But this particular group of friends was free yesterday, so celebrate we did!
I feel like a need to do a dining review! LOL. This was definitely an experience and not just a meal. We had a great time. And I got this:

When we first got there I was talking about my trip because I hadn't seen a couple of them since I got back. I also mentioned the IASW anniversary and how I was bummed I wouldn't be there. At that point the conversation turned to everyone mentioning how annoying the song can be. When the above deliciousness was brought out, my friends all started to sing happy birthday... and then halfway through they switched to IASW, much to the confusion of our waitress!

So much fun!
Great updates from AK!
Your stories about how the animal food are prepared reminded me of a behind the scenes tour we took here at the Smithsonian National Zoo during a Snore and Roar sleepover at the zoo for DD. For our behind the scenes tour, we had selected to visit the Animal Commissary and saw the same binders full of recipes for each animal. Pretty cool stuff.
I don't think I've ever noticed the craft station/cart that you came across back there by Rafiki's Planet Watch and we go there very often! Cool!
Happy Birthday!
When my sister moves home, I'm hoping I can do some fun stuff like that with my niece and nephew at our zoo. I always see different things that would be fun and then I remember that I don't have kids

Thank you!!!!!
Yes indeed, the lion actually moving is a rarity.
OMG how incredibly sweet was that zoo story. And just one more reason to love giraffes.
You do realize that your nephew must now be kicked out of the family right?
Well done capturing and sharing the little gems that make Ak and Disney in general such a unique and wonderful place and NOT Six Flags. But then again, Six Flags was a nice segue into the wonderful prayer flags.
I feel so special that Mr Lion decided to stand up and greet me! Haha. And yeah... the giraffe story totally did me in.
In my nephew's defense, he's not quite 4 years old yet and he hasn't been to Disney in a little over a year, as compared to the Six Flags that is right down the road

I am caught up on all my subbed TRs. (I think) and started looking for a new one to sub to.
I love readying about solo trips. I did one myself several years ago and it was very liberating.
I am glad that your new diagnosis of MS did not give you any trouble during your trip.
I, too, hate to drive so woo hop to 5 days without driving.
Looking forward to reading more about your trip.
So happy to have you along for the party!!
I really love going solo. But that was my concern with the MS. Being sick at Disney would be bad enough; the possibility of being sick and unable to see and all alone in Disney caused more than one anxiety attack.
Yes, your lion pic is a rare wonder! Looks like a L'Oreal commercial!I have one pic of the lion up and roaring from about 2012 or 2011. I figure I've seen my share of the Disney lion for life.
Iasw is a real favourite of mine too, so cool that you share a birthdayhehhee I hope you can get to celebrate it, and in case I miss is, happy birthday!
Or should I say...
"It's a world of laughter
A world of tears
It's a world of hopes
And a world of fears..." Hehehe
Batman!I love that you got pictures of bats for him (in the absence of Scooby Doo.)
Love the tigers, I could watch them all day!
Sent from my iPad using DISBoards
Crazy lion. That's so weird. Think he knows he's taunting everyone? Haha.
Thank you!!!!!
He is hilarious with his Batman obsession... he's got the dialogue down pat. He opened the refrigerator the other day and told my sister he wanted some bat cheese!
