Day Four, Part Two
It was a year ago yesterday that I made the decision to go on this trip! And it was over the weekend then that I got the confirmation from my friend that he'd be able to catsit for me! So from original trip planning, to the actual trip, to the writing of this trip report it's been an entire year of Disney!!!!
On with the show!
I had a FP+ for Princess Fairytale Hall and I was very excited to meet Rapunzel! I didn't care who her "visiting princess" was because I just wanted to meet her. As soon as I walked in, I saw that it was Snow White. I was so excited to meet Rapunzel that I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the building itself and after seeing other people's pictures I'm annoyed at myself for that.
There were two little girls in front of me. The older of the two was very excited to see the princesses. The younger one didn't want to have anything to do with it. Rapunzel tried engaging her, but she wasn't buying. It made me a little sad, but the older girl definitely got her money's worth.
When it was my turn, Rapunzel asked me where I was from and what I was celebrating. When I told her that I had been sick and just so happy to be there, she told me she would light some lanterns for me
She also asked me if I had my frying pan. I pointed to my bag and let her know I was storing it there. (I will neither confirm nor deny whether or not this was actually true... ) She was very happy to hear that, because someone told her that ruffians had been reported in the area.
Great interaction! I was very, very happy by the time I moved on to Snow.
At this point, the family in front of me was just getting ready to meet her and again the older one was excited and the younger one was terrified. Snow spent some time with the older girl and then walked over to the younger one who by this time was sitting on the ground, looking through her autograph book. Snow very gracefully picked up the hem of her dress and sat down on the floor with her. This totally broke the ice and the little girl started gabbing away! Snow signed her book with a flourish that only a Disney princess can master. I would give anything to see this family's PP photos, because the photographer was snapping away and I know they got some great shots!
When it was my turn, I handed over my camera and the photographer asked if I just wanted her to use that or if I wanted PP photos as well. I told her she could just use mine. I'm SO glad she asked and I'm so glad that was my response because she took quite a few with my camera instead of just one or two.
Snow immediately asked me what I was celebrating. This is a really awkward picture... I think I must have been moving or something. It doesn't help that I have the back of the shirt tucked into my pants because it was huge on me! BUT... this is me explaining what I'm celebrating:
After I gave the brief non-specific explanation Snow White took my hand, looked me in the eye, and asked....
"Did Doc heal you?"
Well, at this point, I was choking back tears. And, of course, I told her yes... and that he did a great job!!
Before letting go of my hand, she noticed my chipped nail polish with my Mickey Mouse images. She then told me a story of how Dopey wakes up in the middle of the night and takes a paintbrush and paints on people's hands.
We then talked for a couple more minutes and I'm so annoyed with myself for not writing the rest of this down, but whatever we were talking about was obviously hilarious:
Please note that she still has not let go of my hand
This was the absolute best character interaction ever. It was Rapunzel I wanted to meet and she did not disappoint. She was wonderful!! But Snow White??? I can't even put it into words. She spent as much time with me as she did a five-year-old girl and she made my heart melt. And huge kudos also go to the PP photographer who took all these pictures with MY camera!
I walked out of Fairytale Hall and posted this on Facebook:
Yes, I did almost cry when Snow White asked me if Doc healed me.
There is absolutely nothing that could happen the rest of the day to ruin this. And that's not a foreshadowing of something bad happening. NOTHING ruined this day for me. Not even the rain
