We just picked up an epipen for our DD(8) last night...Now I'm wondering about airport security.... We'll keep it in the box that has all the prescription information...will we have any problem bringing it with our carry-on..Do we need to have Drs. note or anything??

THANKS!

We have a DD that we just found out on April 9 is very allergic to peanuts and she ended up in the ER. Well this was a week and a half before we left for WDW. I to have to carry an epi pen for her and I had no problems, and we just kept it in the diaper bag. I had a note from her allergist just in case they would ask but they never did. We flew out of Baltimore and they scanned the diaper bag the same as always and we just kept going. So I would have a Dr. note just in case but I wouldn't stress yourself out about it.

Gail ~ that list is amusing!

We had no problem bringing DS's through security in Dec. No one even looked twice at it. BTW, Im talking epi pen,not meat cleaver. ;)

Wow that list was funny......But I guess you really do have to spell it out for some people!

They'll just never get it......:smooth:

It is a list that definitely makes you go "HUH?". Lets see, disposabe razors, corkscrews, blunt scissors, knitting needles, crochet hooks, disposable lighters (BUT ONLY TWO, I got nailed on that one, lol) eyelash curler ( a must have for all pax), nail files, ubrellas (one never knows) are all allowed.
BUT, maincure scissors are not. Hmmmm, let us see.
We all know that no harm can come to anyone using a corkscrew, disposable razor, knitting needles, two disposable lighters or an umbrella as a weapon. Right? I don't know about you, but, a corkscrew used the right way can cause a lot of pain and possibly put an eye out. ;) Knitting needles can defintely cause a problem and anyone with half a brain knows that you can break the plastic off a disposable razor and it becomes a very lethal weapon.
My manicure scissors were deemed a no no, something I don't have a problem with (just a brain fade when packing) and I did not mind mailing them back to myself ( I ran into a REALLY nice TSA agent and they were expensive and I appreciated the chance to mail them back), BUT.....when I came home and read this list I was amazed at what was allowed.
I do appreciate the effort being made to keep us safe, but, this list is absolutely amazing. Corkscrew vs. manicure scissors, wonder which could do the most damage?
Looking at the list of allowables, I get the impression they threw all this stuff into a goldfish bowl and alternated what was allowed and what was not. :)
