If you were to get to an Epcot rope drop on EMH morning, where would you head first? I am wondering specifically which to go to first and which to FP+ between Soarin and Test Track? Or is there a better option? Any Epcot wisdom is appreciated! THANKS!

We love Test Track and don't care for Soarin', so we'd run to Test Track and try to ride that as many times as we could as long as the wait times were acceptable.

If you're willing to ride TT as a single rider, I would do that ride first and get the FP for Soarin'.

If you only want to ride each one just the one time then fp soarin and go straight to test track.

Can't do single rider as we have a 7 and a 5 year old (both over 40"). Does your recommendation still stand?

I've only done TT as single rider, but I would think it wouldn't really matter as long as you do whichever one you don't get a FP for first thing.

ETA: I just checked MDE and if the current wait times are typical, Soarin' is the better option for FP. Right now, the wait for TT is 30 minutes, while Soarin' is 90 minutes.

As mentioned, I think you are good either way as long as you FP+ the other one. Our family's preference would be to FP+ Soarin' and ride TT at least once and possibly twice if the lines weren't too bad. Have fun!

I checked MDE earlier this morning (around 10am). Soarin had a wait time of 55min while TT was only 5min (I thought that data was a little screwy though because I can't remember a time when TT was only a 5 min wait an hour after opening). Maybe TT was down this morning???
Anyway - that being said if your goal would be to ride each one only once - I would FP Soarin and head right to TT at rope drop. If you want to ride one of them twice I would FP the one you want to ride twice - head to Soarin right at rope drop to ride standby and then head directly to TT to ride standby.

Go right to soaring and then over to Test track. If it was just me I would ride soaring twice but the family lies TT.

I was wondering something related to the OP. We'll be at EPCOT at RD on a non-EMH morning, but since we're staying at the Yacht Club we'll be entering from International Gateway. Between TT and Soarin', which one is closer to International Gateway such that we wouldn't be way behind the people coming from the front entrance when we arrive? I figure we'll do the closer one at RD, and FP+ the other one.

I think Soarin is closer.

We were just there last week for RD, and went straight to TT. Had maybe a 10 minute wait, then we had FP for Soarin' later in the day. FP wait there was about 10 minutes as well. So that plan seemed to work out about as well as we could have hoped, given the high spring break crowds.

It seems like there is a bigger rush at RD towards Soarin', which is why we chose to make a dash for TT instead. Plus, the standby waits at Soarin' are typically much longer than at TT, so if we hadn't made it in time for RD for some reason, we figured we were better off having a FP in hand for Soarin'.

We book fastpasses for Soarin' in advance and head for Test Track first; single rider line is the wait is crazy.

How much time does TT single rider line save on average? (I'm going last week of April, for reference, on a non-Epcot EMH Sat.)

On Monday 3/31 - at 9:15a, TT standby was 50mins. Single rider was 10mins. We did single rider, twice. :)

Wow that wait time is kind of disheartening. :worried: Thank you for the info!

Add on question - if we head straight to TT at 8 am and are able to ride once or twice, where should we head next? Wondering if we should hit something else right there or move over toward Soarin and the Seas.

My advice would be to get FP+ for Soarin because the queue for TT is much less dull than the one in Soarin, and also you get to design the car, if you do TT with a FP you won't get to go on the standby queue and design your car. So even if it's a long wait, I think you guys will be more entertained than if you wait at Soarin. :)

As much as I know that I should do it the other way, I am one who booked the FP+ for Test Track. Last time when we were in Epcot, we went to Test Track first. And it broke down. Even 'at rope drop,' it took us almost an hour to get through the ride. Of course, we had three kids, and single rider wasn't exactly in our plans.

We just did FP+ for TT twice a couple of weeks ago and we did get to design our cars.
