Trip in mid July with DH, he is attending a convention at the Swan. One night, the convention dinner is in Epcot with a spot for illuminations and 3 after hours rides available to attendees and guests. The rides aren't specified, but my best guess would be TT, Soarin, and ???? Frozen, Mission Space or Spaceship Earth?

It would be nice to get a little more dressed up than usual park attire, since there won't be a ton of walking and I can swap the sneakers for some teva-style sandals. Anyone have experience/thoughts on a knee length or longer skirt on any of those rides? I won't ride MS, and Soarin is iffy for me with migraine associated vertigo. Any others with motion sickness/vertigo, how did you do on Soarin? I'm considering it since I'm only doing a couple rides that day and it is late at night and can go back and sleep right after if need be.

I got soaked on the Frozen ride. Many people stay completely dry. Not sure why different people have different experiences. Not sure how nice your clothes are, but thought I should warn you.

Good to know. Not planning on anything super nice - machine washable comfortable skirt and nice looking tee-style top. But will avoid a white shirt for sure just in case!!!

I wear knee-length skirts to the park all the time, and I've never had an issue with TT, Soarin', or Mission Space. Test Track does get a little windy, so if you're wearing a skirt that will blow around in the wind, there's a slight chance you'll have to hold it down ... but I've never had that problem, I can just imagine it happening. As long as you know how to sit in a skirt, you'll be fine.
I've never done Mission Space or Frozen, so I can't help with those.
(Honestly, the only ride where I've had a problem in a skirt is the carousel ... for obvious reasons. But I also wear skirts all the time, so I'm used to navigating things in a skirt.)

You should be fine to have a skirt on any ride at Disney spring is pretty much like sitting in a set well all the rides at EPCOT is like this

I always wear knee-length skirts and Tevas sandals on all WDW rides and have never had any problem. Full, knee-length skirts dry more quickly than clingy pants after rides like Splash Mountain, and imo they're just more comfy and cute than pants. Tevas sandals are really supportive for a long-day of walking. They're my go-to hiking shoes. And mine are waterproof, so no worries if they get splashed on a ride or it starts to rain.

I get motion sickness on spinning rides (can't do Tea Cups or Mission Space anymore), but have had no issues with Soarin'.

My daughter got soaked on Frozen, too. she was shocked. She get wetter than she did on splash moutain

I wear casual skirts and dresses all the time to the parks. Just wear a pair of little shorts underneath and you can go on any ride without thinking about it!

I only wear dresses (with bike shorts underneath, for comfort). When it's colder, I swap out the bike shorts for actual leggings. You'll be fine!

Who said there's not a ton of walking at Epcot?
LOL! What I meant was we won't be doing a ton of walking. We don't have tickets to the park earlier in the day, the dinner starts at 5:45 I think, I'm assuming it is somewhere we can watch Illuminations from, and the only rides we get to do are the 3 open to us after that. I am sad we don't get to do more Epcot this trip. I could easily spend 2 or 3 days there :)

I wear sun dresses in warm weather because they are extremely comfortable. I have not had problems on any of the rides.

I wear only Tevas for just these reasons. So light yet with so much support. And they don't get slippery in the downpours--and they dry quickly afterward. Just the thought of soggy sneakers, yuck!
