I wear only Tevas for just these reasons. So light yet with so much support. And they don't get slippery in the downpours--and they dry quickly afterward. Just the thought of soggy sneakers, yuck!
My bike shorts have padding in the seat. Where do you get them without the padding?
I've worn knee-length dresses before.
I just make sure to have bike shorts beneath to prevent chub rub/chafing and to prevent accidental flashing. If my skirt flies up, they're getting a load of bike shorts.
Yes I was not sure what they are called. They are found on Amazon and such sites. I believe they are exercise shorts. I wouldn't ever wear them by themselves but they work great under dresses. They are not padded so I guess they are not biker shorts technically. More like very short, fitted yoga shorts.I wear skirts with bike shorts (not sure what they are actually called, they are a very thin layer so not noticeable at all but there just in case the wind blows or you get in and out of a ride awkwardly. I also wear skorts, same idea, skirt but with the short portion attached. Super comfy, I hardly ever wear shorts anymore at WDW.
The only ride I've ever struggled in while wearing a dress/skirt was Astro Orbiter. It was just difficult to get out of in a lady-like manner.![]()

Trip in mid July with DH, he is attending a convention at the Swan. One night, the convention dinner is in Epcot with a spot for illuminations and 3 after hours rides available to attendees and guests. The rides aren't specified, but my best guess would be TT, Soarin, and ???? Frozen, Mission Space or Spaceship Earth?
It would be nice to get a little more dressed up than usual park attire, since there won't be a ton of walking and I can swap the sneakers for some teva-style sandals. Anyone have experience/thoughts on a knee length or longer skirt on any of those rides? I won't ride MS, and Soarin is iffy for me with migraine associated vertigo. Any others with motion sickness/vertigo, how did you do on Soarin? I'm considering it since I'm only doing a couple rides that day and it is late at night and can go back and sleep right after if need be.
