Epcot - rides wearing a skirt?

I've worn knee-length dresses before.

I just make sure to have bike shorts beneath to prevent chub rub/chafing and to prevent accidental flashing. If my skirt flies up, they're getting a load of bike shorts.
I second this! I wear dresses to theme parks all the time but I usually wear some bike shorts underneath for comfort and coverage ;)

Do any of you mind sharing pics of your Tevas???? I'm always on the look out for comfy park shoes.
Here is a pic of my Daughter's she is wearing with a sundress. We got them at Rackroom shoes. Mine are actually sketchers and are cream in color but similar to these.

Migraine/vertigo sufferer here! Soarin' is fine for me. Better in the middle section, as the sides got me a tiny, tiny bit dizzy. The rides that get me? Astro Orbiter and the Carousel gave me migraines. EE gave me vertigo after the second ride (back to back, will never, ever, ever do that again)

I'd say they're probably "active shorts" or the Jockey slip shorts (which roll and slide down on me, so they're a no-go for parks). I know I wear the Old Navy Active compression shorts. I wear the Compression active capris regularly, too. I just like to call them bike shorts, but I think they're just active shorts?

Either way, I wouldn't be caught in a dress without them at this point. :D

The Jockey slip shorts roll up on the legs and roll down on the waist for me. I now wear the Vassarette brand of slip shorts (Amazon) and own three colors. I've been wearing them since early May and have not had a single episode of rolling, despite walking multiple miles several times. It's so nice not to worry about the wind!

I wear almost only above-the-knee sundresses, either with Croc slides or Keens. Underneath I wear JKY slipshorts ot Jockey skimmies. I get similar wicking "shorts" for my 11yo daughter to wear under her dresses, but they're called playground panties and playground shorts. My daughter wears Tevas and Keens.

Yes - it is the Tessitura. Bummer about Mission Space, I can't ride that one. Wonder if we can ride each more than once, I'll just hang out at TT LOL

Thanks for the Soarin suggestion. I think I will try it. I can do EE, but not more than once in a row.

I have vertigo and am usually one quick head turn away from motion sickness at any given time. I'll go on Mission Space (Green), and Star Tours to keep my wife company but I keep my eyes closed the ENTIRE time. I'm OK with speed so Space Mountain and Test Track are no issue. I can do Rockin' Roller Coaster with my eyes closed because of the loops. I haven't had a problem with Soarin'. I think that the last time I went on it I didn't have to close my eyes at all.

My wife wears skirts and sun dresses to the parks from time to time without issue. I've have always wanted to also but my wife said I don't have the legs to pull it off.

I only wear skirts and skorts at Disney. Never an issue. I actually find them much more comfortable than shorts. They are cooler due to increased airflow, dry faster, and I don't have the terrible feeling of a hot bench against the backs of my bare legs like I do in shorts.

I’m curious...as I’m a man and not Scottish, I have no experience of this but why would wearing a skirt be problematic on rides?

Getting into or out of the ride vehicle can cause you to flash upper thigh or higher if you do it wrong. If you’re on a coaster the breeze can cause a floaty skirt to blow up and show more thannibtended. While waiting in line or walking around sudden breezes can cause the skirt to do things you don’t want it to do.

This is why many of us wear workout shorts underneath, so it’s not just underwear being shown when/if those things happen.

I wore dresses my entire time at DW in May, I just had on bike shorts underneath in case of a breeze or rides going fast (seriously, glad I was wearing them for a few coaster photos haha)

I usually wear athletic sweat wicking skorts, but I am switching to Disney themed tank style dresses so I picked up a couple pairs of Jockey Skimmies (slip shorts) from Kohls to wear underneath. I probably need to grab a few more before our next big trip though.

Would you mind sharing what date your group will be in the park? Although you may not be riding anything til after hours, others in your group may go earlier??

I will say we have 1 'dress code' dinner while at WDW this summer AND I don't like packing anything that won't get used twice (we do laundry). SO, that resulted in the purchase of an athletic skirt with built in shorts, similar to a tennis skirt only a bit longer but not knee length. I do plan to wear into parks another day. However, I did get a dressy tank top to dress it up a bit, but the fabric & draping neckline will probably prevent me from wearing it again, but maybe on a driving day??? At least its super thin & takes tiny amount of luggage space.

July 18th. I'm sure other families traveling with might be hitting the park for the day. I decided not to, I got a 3 park pass plus water park with convention pricing so going to do full days in the other 3 parks. I've never seen illuminations, I'm excited about that!

Any suggestions on websites to look at for skirts or skorts which would be comfortable (not too hot) at Disney World in August? I would like to find something knee-length or maybe a little shorter or a little longer.

I wear skirts and dresses almost exclusively to the parks no matter the time of year.
However some days I wear legging under them that range from bike shorts to capris to the ankle variety.
Has never interfered with my ability to have fun and you should be fine:).
