Epcot - rides wearing a skirt?

Do any of you mind sharing pics of your Tevas???? I'm always on the look out for comfy park shoes.
I swear by my Teva Kayenta shoes, I own them in about 6 different colors! I find them to be incredibly comfortable for miles and miles of walking and they dry fast if they get wet. In warmer weather, I only wear dresses and skirts and I like the look of these sandals more than traditional Tevas.

I have switched to wearing stay-dry hiking skirts or thin breezy cotton sun dresses or india cotton skirts ALL THE TIME. I love how my legs never get hot! They are just wonderful to pair with Teva or Sketcher walking sandels and you won't be sorry!

My Pliner's arrived today and I now have a second pair of comfy "can be worn for most any occasion" sandals. Only one pair is going on this trip but they'll match whatever I wear. Only pic I can find is on one of Nordstrom's sites but actually bought them for even less at the long time love of my life, Century 21:

Marked down from 'spensive to seriously reasonable. They even came with a much needed shoe bag. Sweet!

Trip in mid July with DH, he is attending a convention at the Swan. One night, the convention dinner is in Epcot with a spot for illuminations and 3 after hours rides available to attendees and guests. The rides aren't specified, but my best guess would be TT, Soarin, and ???? Frozen, Mission Space or Spaceship Earth?

It would be nice to get a little more dressed up than usual park attire, since there won't be a ton of walking and I can swap the sneakers for some teva-style sandals. Anyone have experience/thoughts on a knee length or longer skirt on any of those rides? I won't ride MS, and Soarin is iffy for me with migraine associated vertigo. Any others with motion sickness/vertigo, how did you do on Soarin? I'm considering it since I'm only doing a couple rides that day and it is late at night and can go back and sleep right after if need be.

I hope you have a wonderful time. I too have migraine associated vertigo and stay off MS after spending half my day sick from a mission to Mars. Soarin doesn't affect me, nor does Tower of Terror. I take Bonnine for motion sickness in the morning when I'm at Disney, regardless of the planned rides. It seems to help with the crowded areas when it gets extremely hot and stuffy. The heat and humidity intensifies on the hot pavement.

If there is a low cloud cover, the fireworks at Illumination give me a headache from the smoke residue. I keep a distance or stay inside to view. I also take Claritin 24hr. allergy relief because there are many different flower and plants that are blooming at EPCOT. I also get the Disney rash from the pavement if I don't remember to change sock and shoes when I've walked 5 miles or more. I wear shorts or skorts.

We were at Animal Kingdom a week ago and the first thing I bought was a cooling bandana/scarf at the gift shop. Very fashionable in pink with mickey outlines. What a difference in my day! I will never go there again without it. For $16 one of the best investments in the summer to enjoy your day. It doesn't have to be wet, pull it from both ends to activate to cool core technology. Hope this helps!

I also wear skorts. I get mine at womanwithin.com. They have a range of sizes that will fit almost any woman.

Compression shorts (what people are calling bike shorts or exercise shorts) are typically worn by many under a skirt.

Cheerleaders/soccer/volleyball players prefer the Nike Pro brand and wear them under formal dresses as well.

To me compression shorts are more....pull it in, tighten it up by fabric content. I wear mostly cotton bike shorts :).

I have found poshmark is a GREAT place to get skirts. I put in 'hiking skirts' and pages and pages of that stay dry super thin material skirts came up. They were cheap and high end makers.

Yikes! I will skip MS for sure - I didn't go on it last time we went. DH has no motion sickness and didn't really enjoy MS either. We are hoping it's not one ride on each and just those rides are open for a specified time and we can ride TT more than once instead. :) I will give Soarin a try.

I am a bit concerned about the heat - lately when I get very hot, my face turns beet red and stays that way even when the rest of me cools down and it can trigger a migraine. I have a couple of those type of towels I got at Ocean State Job Lots a couple years ago. Wondered how they would work in the humidity. Sounds like it is worth bringing them, thanks.

Dreaming of CT and RI, now .
We just bought some cooling towels @ a local HD recently. I stitched Velcro to them and the kiddos' back packs. Let you you how they work with the humidity now that they are less apt to be lost;).

The idea of biker shorts under sounds really stifling to me? Doesn’t it negate the coolness of wearing a skirt?

Most are made to be worn during workouts so are breathable and dry quick, also it helps those that struggle with chafing in the heat.

Depends on how much Spandex is in them. 15% and up is in the control level and mimics the old fashioned girdle or more modern Spanx. Less than that and they provide no support per se but won't fall down when you stand up, LOL. When I wear biker shorts (again mostly the older fashioned predominately cotton version) it's with a shorter dress, skirt or tunic and is more of a fashion choice as opposed to anything else.

Interesting as I always associate throwing on leggings, for example, for warmth.

But the chafing thing makes sense.
