Epcot Resorts F&W Waitlist Experiences?

Sorry if this is a repeat post - I ran a search and got a 503 error and have to get to work...

Historically, what's your experience with getting your WL for an Epcot resort during F&W? We are currently waitlisted at the BCV for a 1 br for 6 nights (one of which is Halloween) and I am not holding my breath, but I'm curious. Yesterday I was able to book those same 6 nights in a 1 br at BWV and I almost fell out of my chair in surprise, so I guess it's possible...?

We're absolutely tickled to have BWV and the only reason I am WLing BCV is because we miss it and really want to enjoy SAB. But either way, we're happy. And if we get our WL, we'll probably make someone else who really really wants BWV very happy too.

So....in past years anyone get your Epcot resort WL for F&W? Not get it?

I've not ever had luck on the waitlist in October... Hopefully you will have better luck than me though!

I haven't had any luck with the wait list for the time around Halloween for the last 2 years. We've always had another resort booked, but my BCV waitlist has never come through (this was for a 2 BR).

I'm on the wait list for early Oct. for a BWV studio. I already have a 2BR (booked at 11 mos.). I've gotten one of my 5 requested nights so far. The thing is, I got that night when I called MS last week to expand the wait list parameters. I had been on the wait list for a few weeks, so I thought it was strange that the very day I called, that one night was available. That kind of confirms my thoughts about calling MS every couple weeks to just check about the wait list.

I had been on a wait list a couple years ago for a couple nights in a standard studio. Of course it didn't come through, so we ended up with a preferred view - not a big deal. I have OKW for a few nights and am wait listing for the last two of those if BWV doesn't come through. I'd really like to keep my extended family together at the BW, so I hope this works for me.

Of course, this would not have been an issue at all if I had just booked the room at 11 mos. I didn't think Dsis would be thinking about coming with us, but I'm hoping she does and we can get the room.

We have the 27th - 30th in a studio at VWL and the 30th through the 5th in a 1br at BWV. As of yesterday the 30th through 2nd were available in a 1br at the BCV but I didn't want to book it and waitlist the last three nights and risk moving two times.

I got a call from MS today with a couple of my wait list nights. I now have 2 standard view nights, 1 preferred view night, one night at OKW, and one night with nothing. I'm still on the wait lists to try to get all of this to BW with without a move (or at least with just one) for the 5 nights.

I was able to turn down a couple of the options because of duplicates and then dropped a couple OKW nights I had, so hopefully that will help someone else out.

I'm encouraged to have this much by this time. With 4 1/2 mos. to go, I'm feeling pretty good about my chances of getting what we need.

Funny that someone else said they got a waitlist night when calling MS for something else. I had that experience in March and again a few weeks ago for our November trip.

In March, we were travelling the following week and I was calling about my waitlist and the CM said to hang on, she could probably do something for us. Next thing I knew, our OKW room was switch to a formerly booked solid BCV (and we think the room next to us and across the hall from us were empty for our whole 5-day trip). Didn't understand why that didn't come through on a waitlist if it was available.

I had a very similar experience last month. I called for a ressie at BWV for November 7-9 -- no availability so I waitlisted and took a room at SSR. Called back 2 days later to add November 6 and the CM said to hang on, put me on hold, and came back with all three nights available in a BWV PV.

All of these rooms were studios.

So I've had very little luck with waitlists, but great luck when I just call and ask questions. Probably doesn't help you much, but good luck getting your room either way!!!
