Epcot Passport

I think the document that was forwarded to me which includes the photopassport page on the insides of the cover is going to work great!

BUT I've been having trouble figuring out how to edit the photo page. I opened the document in GIMP (which I downloaded some time ago but haven't quite figured out how to use yet). I would like to edit the "ticker" type font at the bottom of the page to turn the 2008 into 2009. I'd also love to be able to personalize it a bit more with my kids' names in the spot where the "passport holder's" name goes.
I think I read somewhere in this thread before that GIMP was used to create the photo passport page (hence the clear window to insert a photo under).

Does anyone have the actual GIMP file they could forward me on that rather than just the gif? That way I could seperate the layers and make some edits.

I would REALLY appreciate it! my emal address is nikidmo @ yahoo . com (remove the spaces)

And if no one has the GIMP file, does anyone know of any other way I could make those types of changes? I don't have printshop or anything like that.

Thanks!!!

I'm still trying to figure out how to edit the photo page so that I can put in my kids photo as well as change the text at the bottom to say 2009 instead of 2008 etc. Does anyone out there know how I can do it?

these are so cute!! I am doing a drinking around the world event when I go down for my wedding. I would love to uses these and my guest can write what drink we had from each country in it. Is it possible to edit these to make it say Drinking around the world 2010? And maybe write drink name on the blank lines of each page.

Pat, your work is awesome! Would you be able to create one of the Epcot graphics that has the Fab 5 inside a circle of the country mickey ears on a white background with Epcot 2009 in blue? I saw these in 2007 & 2008.

Thanks,
Kim

I am sorry I didn't think to do that earlier. I will see what I have saved and try to make some for many years to come and a blank one. :goodvibes

Gimp (like PhotoShop or other photo editors) utilizes layers. The blank page I forwarded out is a "flattened" compressed picture with a hole (transparent section) for a you to drop it over your own pictures. If I no longer have the saved gimp image with the individual layers, it may take me a bit to recreate it. I now have another little demand on my time and he is not sleeping well. SO it will likely be in fits and spurts in the early morning. :surfweb:

All right. I found it! :cheer2: If you would like the info page in the gimp format, please send me a PM with your email address. I do not have time to keep up with all of the posts on here, so please feel free to pass it on to others who want to play with it. :goodvibes

Ann117, as to the cover, I did not do the original design work there so I can't really 'edit' it. *If* I get some time to make a new one for the food and wine festival, I will try. Adding the place on each country to record the drinks can be done in the word file by creating a text box and then changing the properties to be transparent and having no border. This will yield the text appearing on each page as though it was made that way. You can then copy that text box and drop/drag it to all the countries as desired. Voila! :wizard: your own personalized passport.

***When using GIMP, there are usually 2 boxes that open (maybe 3 depending on the version) in addition to the picture you are creating/editing. THe one on the right will have a layers tab with all of the layers shown. Be sure you click on the layer you want to change and then when you click on a function, let's say you want to move the text box back in place after editing it, be sure you click "move active layer" in the left box. If you make a mistake, press Ctrl+Z to undo it. And remember it takes a while to become proficient in any program of this nature. Keep playing with it and try not to get frustrated. :thumbsup2

Hi!

I'd love it if someone would email me the word doc too - amccrack @ hotmail.com

Thanks so much! I'm going to WDW again in 3 1/2 weeks :cheer2: and with a friend who's never been there before - can't wait to show her everything we all know and love!

I'm bumping this for you so maybe it won't get lost in the fray and someone who can help will still read it.

If no one is around who can personalize it for you, another option would be to buy letter stickers and personalize it yourself. I found some adorable Mickey Mouse letter stickers (that have Mickey hanging out on some of the letters) at Target in the scrapbook section. I printed out my passport cover and then applied the stickers to it before I covered it in contact paper.

Someone else may still be able to help you customize the document, but if not, at least this is another option to consider!

Good luck!
