Epcot or Hollywood studios?

Will you have park hoppers? You could start at rope drop at DHS and then hop over to Epcot after lunch. You could do the same on the second day, or choose to spend that full day at Epcot. We love DHS and would never skip it, so I would definitely keep it in the plans but maybe cutting it back to a half day would be sufficient.

I'll echo what's been said above. As an adult, Epcot is my favorite park. But much of what I enjoy there would be lost on kids that young. My answer might be different if you had already done one day at each and we're trying to decide which one to go back to. But I wouldn't skip DHS entirely for a second day at Epcot.

What weskbob said.... While there is less to do at both Epcot and DHS these days there is still enough at both to warrant a visit.

HS all day over Epcot. After Nemo, you will all just be staring at each other....

We just came back with our little guy and he loved DHS more than Epcot. I would definitely keep it on the list and not skip. Between the characters, Toy Story, Disney Junior, and the car show he just loved being there. Have fun!

Epcot is a bit different... It *can* be a 2-day park, but it could also be a half-day park, depending on your interests. In January, Soarin will be down, which is 1 of their 2 big attractions.

In terms of ride - attractions, as of January, it is barely a half-day park. Not even sure you can do Test Track with really young kids. So you just have a handful of "rides" for young kids that you can knock out in a couple of hours.

Exploring the World Showcase... can be done in 2 hours, or in 2 days, depending how much do you want to take in. You can spend an hour or more at each country, or you can just walk through for 10 minutes.

I can totally envision two days at EPCOT, personally. I'm absolutely in love with World Showcase, and I could easily spend a day just roaming through that entire section.

I'd say to split off that second day - you, DH, mom, the kids, and whoever else could go, and the rest who don't could take a second day at EPCOT. HS is great for younger kids, what with Toy Story and Disney Junior. It's definitely a lot of fun, especially at that age.

Thank you all for chiming in! Really some great info here and as the consensus is HS that solves it, HS it is.

We aren't getting park hoppers as our group just doesn't have the energy for it yet. With the closures we might miss some things, but we would anyway and if I can blame it on construction I won't feel so bad. I imagine the kids will get bored with shopping and eating, and most are too short for the big rides. Thanks for pointing this out.

Cadaverous_palo, thanks for mentioning the Muppets, that will be a "not to miss" ride for me.

I'm looking forward to the food in Epcot especially tho. We aren't really planning sit downs so this seemed my best bet for food bliss. And I could probably spend the day at Mitsukoshi.

I'm so glad for Disboards, and the other sites I've found. I never understood why my sister looooved WDW so much and took all her vacations there. I have now drank the Disney koolaid and she is gloating.

My husband and I just got back from a trip with our 5 year old son. We liked Hollywood studios better although I am glad we spent a little time at epcot. My husband is a huge star wars fan and we went on star tours twice bec the cm said there are 50 something different experiences to be had on that ride.
