I know Epcot is closing at 3 on 10/9 for a special event. Would that be the best park to visit that day because attendance would be low due to the park hours, or would the special event bring in too many people? I have never been in the parks when they are having something special and don't know what to expect. We would be able to hop to another park later in the day. Thanks for your help.

I was actually wondering the same thing and have tentativly planned to be at EPCOT that day.:smooth:

Since Mission: Space has its "grand opening" or whatever that day, they are closing early for the partay. I have heard 2 schools of thought - 1. the park might be slower since people know that it will close early - or 2. that Disney execs. and their families might spend the day there and then be there for the partay.

Who knows? I think we are going to go to Universal that day - I'm thinking that it might be a good day to get away from Disney (if there is ever a good day)

Not sure what to do in the AM, but we will be at MK in the PM.
They have changed the closing to 10pm and added another showing of Spectro Magic.
And this is the first day they have the new "Wishes" fireworks show actually on the schedule.
We were hoping to see the new fireworks either Sat Oct 4th or Mon. Oct 6th.....but those still say "Fantasy in the Sky".

But now that you mention it.....we may do Epcot because I think most people will avoid that park completely all day.....So 9am for TT and M:S might just be the thing to do.

CINDYFAN,

We have the same thoughts as you...this week in Oct. has been a little nerve racking to plan.

It makes our last couple of trips just a walk in the park compared to planning this trip.

We will avoid MK on the 9th...so any other park will do.

That's the press event for the "official" opening of Mission:Space.

If you don't mind park hopping, I can't see any reason why you shouldn't hit Epcot in the morning.

ABSOLUTELY!!!!
We have changed our park plans for every day that week about 10 times!!
And they keep changing the park hours!!
Every day that week has different hours for MK. I know 2 of the days are for MNSSHP ( we are going on the 5th :p )
But they have also changed MGM hours too. We usually go this time of year to avoid big crowds....and I know if we go to the right parks the right days....we can avoid most of the crowds...
BUT...we still want to get to see the new fireworks and Spectro Magic.
However, if we miss Spectro we won't be heartbroken. We will see the Halloween parade!!!
So......for the 9th..........tough call......We are staying at the Poly, so we could see the fireworks from there.....
But with it being a new show.....I would really like to see them from Main Street.

OH....decisions!!

I know the other parks are scheduled to be MUCH more crowded. We called two weeks ago for Fantasmic Dinner Package for that night -- and it was COMPLETELY booked up!
