EPCOT on New Years Eve?

Hi,:wave2:

My Adult DD and I will be spending NYE in Epcot for the 1st time:woohoo::dance3:

I just have to ask if there are places to duck into to get away from the crowds?:confused3 I know they open up the lawns and We do have ADRs... lunch @ Chef's and dinner @ 9 Dragons but the crowds are a little intimidating to me. Only 5 feet tall... to be honest i'm a little worried :crowded:
i guess we could always head over to HS if it gets too bad:scratchin

Thanks for your help and guidance:thumbsup2

I've not heard of them opening any lawns and in fact there really isn't any place you can find a lawn to spread out on. People have their blankets spread out around the lagoon holding their places, but they are not allowed on the grass area. As the night wears on you will find less and less places that aren't crowded but having dinner at 9 dragons will be nice a breather for you.

I am also just over 5 feet and I get a bit anxious in big crowds that don't move, but that's why we spend just a few hours in the evening, I can't really take much more than that. There is the America Pavilion which has quite a bit of seating, but they play very loud salsa type dance music so not really relaxing. You might find some places in the back of some of the countries that have a quieter area to sit and rest away from the crowds.

Thank You for easing my mind:goodvibes.
We do have ADRs for lunch and dinner so i guess we'll, like you said... just go with the flow. A couple of drinks we should be fine party:

Do you know where we can pick up the party hats?

Thanks again for your help

Happy Holidays to you!!:santa:

Anytime! They normally have three stations setup throughout the park where they give out the hats and noisemakers, normally there are two in FW (East and West) and one in WC (American Pavilion), they will print this information on the Times Guide for that day along with information on all the DJ dance party locations and times, they normally start the distribution in the late afternoon so be at one of the stations early to make sure you get one. I normally get mine from the station at FW East in front of the old Wonders of Life pavilion, this one seems to be the least crowded but then again I normally get there early as soon as they open.

HAVE FUN AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU AS WELL!

We have FP+ for the morning:

Do you think while we're in future world we'll be able to get the party hats around that time before heading to WS?
:thanks:

As far as lawn area being opened up, it is primarily is Future World. In 2012, I watch the early Illuminations laying on the lawn beside the Imagination Pavilion. There is also a "hidden" restroom on the far right hand side of the Imagination Pavilion that I was able to use with a long line.

I'm going to agree with everyone else. The crowds were massive. Unlike everyone else, I rarely felt like it was crushing. If you want to "get away" they opened the backstage areas to get between Future World and World Showcase. They were lightly used when I used them so you could get a breather.
