I've never posted here before, but have wandered the boards for a few years, gaining alot of insight and tips that have made each of our trips to Disney wonderful, and wanted to thank you all, and share a little of our week in a very chilly (and rainy) Disney Feb. 21-28 2004.

My son (5) is compleletely infatuated with one of the performers in the Masquerade at Italy in Epcot... When he was four, we happened to be there when the show began, and the one female character played with him during the performance, and gave him a carnation at the end.

He carried that flower for 3 days.

This year, he talked of nothing but his "lady of venice". And we went back to see the show, she pulled a few flowers from a hanging basket to give to him, and he carried them around until they fell apart. The next day, he asked and asked where he could buy a flower for her (we didn't find any).

So, instead he gave her a ring he had gotten in the "treasure" during the kids Pirate cruise. She wore it, and as it was cold and quiet took him for a little walk around Italy, showed him the gondola etc. At the end of the show, she had him stand on the stage with her, and walk her to the exit.

He wanted to see every performance and go there every day - he did go three times! Sitting front and center very quite and patient waiting for his "lady".

Now that he's home, he wants to send a picture of the two of them to her, and I can't help but laugh - he is so sincere in his request. He is worried that she will forget him!

I would like to send a thank you - for how happy she has made him.

Would anyone know how to do this?

Thanks!

That is so sweet!
I would think to try calling Guest Services, im sure they could point you in the right direction.

That's a great story.........I'm sorry I can't help you there, but I would suspect GS should be able to help out...............

If I may "piggy back" your thread...........I've got great video footage of my 16 month old DS "frolicking" around Italy during the masquerade with the most wonderful music playing in the background................What I am looking for is either: 1) some Disney CD that might have the music from the Masquerade included on it................or 2) anyone who might know which opera that music is from so that I can find it in the music store????

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For anyone wanting to see this should do it before April 24. The last performance will be April 24. No word on a replacement.

This was posted on WDWMagic.com under Epcot news.

I wanted to see it this May because I saw the very end of it with StaceyA and her Mom last October and took some pictures of the performers but missed the show.

Now I'm bumming.

I only know that the final song is Time to Say Goodbye from Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman, I believe it is on his Romanza CD.

Just found this on all ears on the Anita answers section:

You'd be surprised how often I get asked this question, so I'll answer it again for those readers still wondering. Some of the selections you may hear when Character Masquerade performs outside the Italy Pavilion at Epcot's World Showcase include "Barber of Seville," "Cinderella," "William Tell," "Four Seasons," "Cara Mia," "The Thieving Magpie," and "The Italian Girl in Algiers."

Another song which usually plays following the Masquerade performance, is "Con Te Partiro" (Time to Say Goodbye) performed variously by Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman, and Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman as a duet. This is the selection that most Guests seem to be looking for.

Speranza avete trovato questo per essere utili!

I am so sorry to hear this will be canceled. It is all my boy talks about when planning our trips (seeing his friend) and all he talks about after...

Don't know why but it is his favorite part.

I bought him the Sarah Brightman CD, and he listens to that song and looks at his pictures!

I always thought the masquerade to be one of the nicer sit and relax entertainments at Epcot. Its a shame it won't be there any more.

Now how am I going to explain this to a 5year old?

Also, I would send in pictures (we have quite a few!) but can't figure out how.
