Epcot FP+ tiers gone...for now.

Thank you so much for posting this! We leave in a month for a short Epcot-only trip, and I was just able to go in and change our FP+ reservations to exactly what we wanted. :thumbsup2

This is good news for those who have trips soon! If I were to venture a guess, I would say this is another phase of testing. They had FP+ running over the Christmas busy season with tiers, and now they're going to try the busy spring break season with this work around and see how it affects the crowds/lines for those attractions.

I'm not holding my breath that this will still be in effect for our (hopeful) November trip, but it certainly would be awesome if it was!

Worked for me as well. I had Soarin', Mission Space and Spaceship Earth already selected for Epcot for March 12. It let me switch Spaceship Earth for Test Track in the same time slot, so now I have both Soarin' and Test Track on the same day. It also let me have both RnR and TSM at the Studios on the same day. I had to first make selections within the tiers, so I couldn't initially have both TSM and RnR. But after I made the selections, with TSM as my tier I choice, it then let me swap Star Tours for RNR. NIfty.

This is great news. I hope it still holds for when my FP+ window opens. I wasn't sure what we were going to do in HS or Epcot. We just have no interest in FPs for some of the t3 stuff.

Maybe they want to try to steer people to other attractions, but then if you are persistent (and know how to do it) you can change it yourself.

Perhaps so; the workaround nature of it seems to indicate that they hope most people settle for what they can get for with the tiers, or else it's an exploitable glitch. They have the template to set it up without tiers at all and they could have easily done that.

This does appear to fly in the face of the presumed "fairness" that some think Disney is trying to accomplish by keeping the uninitiated guests from being at a disadvantage. No doubt someone will be along to tell you bunch of cads and scurvys how you're cheating the system. pirate:

Yep! I was just able to change existing Fps to a non-tiered system. All the favorites are now available and RD is unnecessary for me! More ZZZZzzzz :hourglass AND Soarin / Test Track. Life is SO good!!! :cheer2:pixiedust::cheer2::goodvibes:cheer2:

There's a post on another discussion forum that has a picture of what appears to be a computer screenshot - I'm guessing the screenshot is from the WDW IT system. If I knew how to copy it I would, but it appears to be a list of commands or instructions of some sort - update this, modify that, etc. One of them says "provide ability to add additional FP+ experience once initial FP+ set is redeemed." There's been discussion about this on another thread - it appears possible that, once you've used your first three FP+ selections, you may be able to get more. Stay tuned.

I read a post on Twitter this morning where the guy said he did just this. If this turns out to be true I will need to alter the times of my current FP+ selections.

Ok, we need to simmer down about this before "they" see it and change it back:lmao:

I've been reading this rumor too- sadly I can't test this one since I"m not there... If this is indeed the case and if it remains the case for the long haul, then these two things together mitigate much of the negatives of FP+ as it essentially becomes legacy FP that you can book 3 ahead of time, but without the ability to repeat FP use for the same ride.

Worked for us as well. I saw Josh from EasyWDW post about it on Twitter tried it and switched Spaceship Earth to Test Track even though we had Soarin' already schedule.

Not trying at DHS because we don't ride RnR.

Just did it, switched out Spaceship Earth for Test Track, Now I have Soarin' and Test Track on same day within an hour of each other

Chalk me up as another who was able to go in and modify Epcot and DHS selections to replace Tier 2 attractions with Tier 1s. At first I didn't think I could because I wanted to switch Spaceship Earth to Soarin' and Soarin' wasn't on the list for that same time frame. But then I tried to first switch my time for Spaceship Earth to later in the day, and then voila! I was then given the option of switching to Soarin'-- so I am guessing those FPs just weren't available for the earlier time frame.

I was able to do this for 3 different days during our March trip. Unfortunately, all the switching has just added to the ghost FP quagmire that is MDE ...

Thank you OP. You just made my Epcot day an my DHS day much more enjoyable! TT and Soarin one day, and TSM, RnR, and ToT the next. Great news.:dance3:
