Epcot FP+ tiers gone...for now.

So glad to see this. This is definitely new functionality, because I tried to do this in the past, and tiers were still there when you made a change.

I've tried to see if they've added hopping, but no luck with that yet. I did discover that ones you delete an FP, you only have two. You can't add one back. If you cancel everything, you can get three again, but you can't just add one back.

I wonder if an offsiter who is at the parks can use the kiosks to do the same thing and get both Soarin and TT?

I wasn't able to do it from my desktop....but...i was able to do it from my phone :) .... thanks for the tip!!!!!

Frat that you can do this but seems like a glitch. From what I have read they are working on an update to MDE. My thinking is that they broke something while working on this

Can't see why they wouldn't allow you to book but alow you to switch

Updated mine too. I hope this works. We arrive next Saturday so now I'm excited we can do test track and soarin in the same day. Hope it isn't one of those things and we get there and they tell us we don't have the fast pass. Thanks OP for sharing this.

This is good news for those who have trips soon! If I were to venture a guess, I would say this is another phase of testing. They had FP+ running over the Christmas busy season with tiers, and now they're going to try the busy spring break season with this work around and see how it affects the crowds/lines for those attractions.

I'm not holding my breath that this will still be in effect for our (hopeful) November trip, but it certainly would be awesome if it was!

This isn't entirely true.

I don't remember exactly when they put the tiers in place, but when I made reservations in late October for a trip from 12/27-1/1 the tiers were not yet in place. So, at least guests who made their reservations early enough had non tiered FP+ reservations for the Christmas season. There were still paper FPs then at all parks except DAK, so the spring break season is going to be different in at least some respects.

Worked for us! Thanks OP.
Finally a perk that brings the FP+ system up to par with the benefits my family had with FP-.

Worked for our upcoming trip from 3/28 -4/5, I was able to change all our Epcot to Test Track and Soarin.

It also worked with Hollywood Studios.

:thumbsup2

So can we officially coin a new term?......"Super Changers"??
Will the people who complained that people who used to get 7 or 8 FP- a day were abusing the system, taking advantage of the uninformed and breaching the honor code now complain that people who change their FP+ reservations to include both TT and Soarin' are guilty of the same bad conduct? :confused3

It's gotta be a glitch, because there were only a tiny number of people complaining, right?

:rotfl2:

Hopefully it's not a glitch and they are starting to open things up a bit.

Interesting that they'd choose to play on ignorance, though, by letting you go ahead and manipulate the reservations only after they've been given an opportunity to present you with their choices.

They want so bad to be able to make those picks for us, there are so many reasons why they could and would choose certain attractions at certain times, but perhaps they are learning that no matter how much business sense it could make, ultimately they have to take customer preference into consideration?

That is a good point....tiers were put into place in early November, so if people made reservations at exactly 60 days, they wouldn't have had had tiers.

I would venture to say, though, that the majority of people who made FP+ weren't doing so at 60 days out in October. The majority on the DIS? Yes, but I'm not sure that transfers to the majority overall. I'm sure there is a lot of data from the Christmas season with visitors who were using the tiers. And since this isn't a full scale "get rid of the tiers completely" change, it just leads me to think that they are testing to see how many people are going to take advantage of the workaround and how it will afefct lines.

There are still enough variables in place that "testing" and data gathering in some fashion is going to be going on for quite a while.

We'll see, but I'm not convinced that today's workaround of the tiers is going to last too long. It could be a mistake, or it could be the FP+ version of a "soft opening" to see how quickly the word spreads and people take advantage of it. It could be closed at any time, just like a ride with a soft opening can open and close without notice.

There is also the big issue of offsite guests being able to book FP+ reservations in advance. That could cause the supply of FPs to run out sooner, but would inevitably reduce the run on FP+ kiosks when parks open.

Interesting. We don't currently have a trip planned, but this will make me like FP+ a little more than I had originally anticipated.

... I love you Disboards community....

I would have NEVER known about this change. I was just able to go into my epcot FP+ for 3 weeks from now and change an existing booking to include Soarin and TT... :cool1:

Wait until everyone finds out that this is really a trap to identify and punish Dis members.

Everyone who made a change to get 2 Tier 1 FPs in a day will be seeing the Blue Mickey when they try to use them.

It's like enticing criminals with the lure of tickets to an NFL game and then arresting them en masse.
