EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, Sept. 25 - Nov 16 2015

Thank you pepperandchips for answering my question about the Festival Marketplace Discovery Passport. I've recently discovered the Disney Food Blog (it's amazing). I was thinking about buying their FW guide (since this is our first time) but need to know if I can download it more than once. I'd like to have it on my laptop (for planning) and then put it on my Kindle Fire when we go to Disney World (I won't be taking the laptop to Florida - it's too tempting to start checking work emails and then I'm stuck in the room working for half the trip!).

But I also really like your idea of printing out the info from the site and highlighting our "must try" food. It would probably be easier to plan with a hard copy, too, as I want my husband to be involved. Since we won't be going until later in October, there's plenty of time to get that done.

I love reading this FW thread - it's getting me really excited to go to this event!!!!

I can't remember if you're allowed to download the file multiple times, but you really only need to download it once. It's a pdf file that you can save onto your computer. So you can add it to your Kindle Fire when needed

Not sure how to put PDF files on my Kindle - but I'm sure one of my sons could do it for me - thanks for the info, randumb0! That's good to know.

I don't believe you can consolidate any Disney gift cards, and I don't know for sure, but doubt the special bungee F&W cards are any different. Many DIS-ers compile the Target GCs onto the Disney Vacation Account or simply use magic bands for room charging and pay off the account each day (or few days) as you go with the GCs. I wish Disney would allow consolidating gift cards! Please let me know if you find information to the contrary as I would be more likely to do this too!
Oh that's right no GC consolidating. Probably not then. :( So can you use your magic band to load a F&W GC then pay the room charge with other GCs?

I think it varies lets dissect it>>>>

The price range is from $3.50-$8.00 per plate at any given booth. Alcoholic beverages are anywhere from $4-$9 (excluding beer flights and champagne) I don't know if they are excluded I am just assuming they are. So lets take the average of $6.00 for an item and you get 8 items would be $48.00 this is all plus tax. If you count the pin for arguments sake say its $12. you are at $60 and then priority seating to the concert which is nice but there is no cost associated with it. So its no discount plus you get a great pin and if you don't go to the concert you really didn't lose anything you just didn't take advantage of a perk so to speak. I think its worth it
What makes you think that alcoholic bevs will be excluded?

No, a well trained CM will not allow you to purchase a gift card with a room charge (Magic Band) , cash or credit card only. Now I am not saying that an occasional CM may let this slide, but it is against Disney's policy to do so.

Edit: Well after 15 years I finally hit my 1000th post.

Does anyone know the difference in the levels for Party for the senses?
they have a $169, $199 and $319

Does anyone know the difference in the levels for Party for the senses?
they have a $169, $199 and $319

$319 is Wine View Lounge: Reserved Seating, center area of room near stage, roped off, tables, silverware, bussed tables by CMs, open bar in roped off area, usually special wine glass and gift bag when you exit for the evening. You still walk the entire hall to get your food and pairings. Enter room about 10-20 minutes ahead of everyone else to sample what could be popular foods or foods of your choice.

$199 is Reserved Seating, no roped off area, it guarantees you a table and chairs - your name will be on a placard to designate reserved table. Allowed in about 10 minutes before General Admission. Regular Festival wine class.

$169 is General Admission. Last allowed in, no reserved table or seating, mingle and share tables with other GA guests. Festival wine glass.

I have done the highest and the lowest. I enjoy the General Admission. I have always been welcomed at a shared non-reserved table.

Simply cannot wait for this thing to happen! gonna skip the Food for the senses this year and go with a Signature dinner...try something different. I do still love my Sweet Sundays though! whom ever is going, go hungry and bring your inner foody!

Any guesses on what the "Culinary Adventures in Signature Dining" lunches at ESPN Club will be like? It's hard to imagine paying $119 for lunch there, but maybe it will be something special and unique?! (Have those taken place there in years past?)

Any other former Frunch fans a little concerned the new Family Meal Traditions is $40 less? I am afraid I may be disappointed in this event if it is not up to the same standards of Frunch. But maybe since it is new, they are offering it at a lower rate just to get people to book.

Kind of wondering why they changed the name to "Family" Meal Traditions. Do you think it will be more designed to include children?

Hmmm, I like the concept of the Sampler, but 8 credits PER PERSON for just one day? I can't imagine the 2 of us eating/drinking 16 things for a meal, lol. I was planning 5-6 per day for the two of us to share thinking that would be plenty for a meal, not 16!

The $60 price tag is only good if you eat a lot of food at one time. Now if they carry over, then that's a different story. Anyone know?

The Rockin' Burger Block Party says that cat 1 & 2 have early entry into World ShowPlace. Dose this mean that the World ShowPlace will not be open to the public those evenings?

ex. Category 1: Nosh Pit Seating -- Block Party VIP style! includes private reserved table, entrance into World Showplace at 6:45 p.m., specialty cocktail toast, premium bar, and more.

I hope not! September 25 is the only day DD and I have together for F&W.

No need to worry. Confusing names but the World Showplace & World Showcase are different. The World Showplace is a separate building located between the UK and Canada and is generally used for private/hard ticketed events only. The World Showcase, with all the country pavilions and around which all the booths are located, should be open for your enjoyment!

The General Manager of the France Pavilion has been asked these questions by a friend that has the same concerns.

The 'Frunch' has a different format this year.

There will be no wine distributor talking about wines. There will still be French wines served.

The food will not highlight a specific French region/style of cooking, rather it will be dishes from the Chefs own family traditions.

"Our chefs will cook food from their childhood memories, food that their Grand Mother, Mother where cooking to them. We are making it more personal this year and taking you in our family. The wines will be paired to each dish."

No children at the event.

Hope that helps.

So will the pourings be as generous as they were with the distributors? :confused3

Never came away from this event feeling as if my glass was not refilled as needed.

Does anyone know if there is a possibility for more special events to be added? Or do we have the full list?
