EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, Sept. 25 - Nov 16 2015

So will the pourings be as generous as they were with the distributors? :confused3

Never came away from this event feeling as if my glass was not refilled as needed.

Laura

That remains to be experienced but I intend to find out! :yay:

Hmmm, I like the concept of the Sampler, but 8 credits PER PERSON for just one day? I can't imagine the 2 of us eating/drinking 16 things for a meal, lol. I was planning 5-6 per day for the two of us to share thinking that would be plenty for a meal, not 16!

The $60 price tag is only good if you eat a lot of food at one time. Now if they carry over, then that's a different story. Anyone know?

Keep in mind that these are tasting portions, not full servings. 8 credits could go VERY quickly, especially if there is more than one item you want to try at one booth. I could easily hit 4 booths to make up one meal, and I'm not a heavy eater.

Have the signature dinners been announced? Is there a comprehensive listing of all the offerings somewhere that I'm not seeing?

The VIP seems like a reasonably good deal considering it includes a $50 gift card per person and includes entry to the Thursday night event, whatever that's called (F&W Live I think?). But when you say it's $400 for us it sounds ludicrous to add on! Then you have the possible French luncheon.... I think I'm definitely out on Party for the Senses. Just doesn't feel worth it to me.

ETA - Never mind, I found a list for 2015.

I'm definitely doing the Premium Package since it's just me and I won't have anyone to snag tables for me!

The General Manager of the France Pavilion has been asked these questions by a friend that has the same concerns.

The food will not highlight a specific French region/style of cooking, rather it will be dishes from the Chefs own family traditions.

"Our chefs will cook food from their childhood memories, food that their Grand Mother, Mother where cooking to them. We are making it more personal this year and taking you in our family. The wines will be paired to each dish."

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info! Wondering if there will be guest chefs or the main chef at Monsieur Paul for each lunch.

If they allow you to use the entitlements for the sampler the same as they did last year at the after hours party there shouldn't be much of anything excluded from the booths. I was thinking of getting the sampler for at least one of the days we will be attending but none of the Eat to the Beat performers are must sees for me during the days we will be there so that perk doesn't work for me. We used most of our booth coupons for champagne at the Late Night Live party last year along with a couple of the filets from the Canada booth and paid for the lower priced items we ate that night. I was going to suggest that if the concerts aren't of interest to you then maybe you could purchase one sampler for one day and a second one for a different day if you think 16 items for one day would be too much.

Does anyone know if there is a possibility for more special events to be added? Or do we have the full list?
I'm hoping they have a few surprises left for us. While I'm intrigued by a few of the new or retooled offerings I really expected a few more WOW evening events. The Burger Party isn't what I consider to be a big enough event to commemorate the 20th anniversary. The Premium package offered last year wasn't announced until the day before they started booking the events last year so I'm hoping to see it again this year or something similar. We were told that it was a trial run for things they were planning to offer for the 20th Anniversary Festival this year.

Has anyone hear what is happening with the deminars? Are they doing them this year? Was surprised to hear nothing about the $15 dollar ones.

Totally agree with this. if you are sharing, often you only get 2-3 bites from something, so 5-6 items total for two people would not be enough for us. And I am not a heavy eater either.

Just about 75 days left to Epcot food and wine 20th anniversary. My wife and I will be down there September 25 through October 3 with plans to go to food and wine on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday as of right now. We are really just looking to have a drink and meet other foodies and Disney nuts like ourself.
Going the 27th and 29th can't wait!!

Please tell me how busy Sunday nights are at the Food and Wine Festival. My husband and I are coming in on Sunday, November 15th and wondering if we should try to go that night or if it will be packed and not worth the 2 hours (7pm-9pm) we will have to spend there. We hate to go to Epcot if it is just going to be mass chaos by the time we get there. We will definitely be going November 16th. We plan to visit Future World until 11am and then head to World Showcase on the 16th. We have never been to the Food and Wine Festival and don't know what to expect. Thanks.

the "packed" times are Friday nights and Saturdays because that is when the locals come. Sunday nights are not AS packed as Fridays or Saturdays but that does not mean they will be uncrowded.

What do you think about the crowds for late morning/early afternoon on opening day? That Friday, September 25 is the only day my DD will be there to go. We do not plan on staying until dinner. I made reservations at BluZoo for late that night. I booked through the restaurant, just in case we need to cancel. But we would really like to eat and drink around the World Showcase for a few hours that afternoon.

I'm hoping for a TIW e-mail with all the details like last year.

The WDW website is currently showing "NULL" on the F & W page for me so hopefully they are working on updating it. They make the website updates based on California time so I'm not expecting to see anything before late this afternoon or evening.
