***Epcot Food And Wine Festival Info 2008***

I need to know is where is cottage cheese soup location at!

There is a Cheddar Cheese Soup available at the kiosk in Canada, also available in Le Cellier restaurant. I don't know of any cottage cheese soup, though!

When I went to the PFTS last year we had a group of DISers who met up outside before they opened up. We had 2 or 3 designated " table runners " who were able to secure tables. We took turns getting food ( and drink:drinking1 ) so that there was always a spot to sit if needed. it worked really well. Anyone interested in meeting up for the PFTS on 10/11?

I couldn't agree more :thumbsup2 . My DS who is 8 thinks lurkyloo looks like Kate Winslet from Titanic.

 Oh my gosh - that's the nicest thing any 8-year-old has ever said about me! (Usually what they say is "What do you mean I have to go to bed? You're the worst babysitter EVER!"")

Lurkyloo, your pictures made my jaw drop - especially the color contrasts between your bouquet and your necklace - gorgeous, just gorgeous.

:cloud9: Thanks! I'm so glad they turned out the way I pictured them in my head!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.... cottage cheese soup.....

D'oh! :headache:

If you sit on your tuffet and eat it a spider will probably come along and frighten you away.

I wonder what made them decide to call it cottage cheese? Perhaps curd's and whey in a tub wasn't a big seller. Sorry for the random question. I get these little mysteries pop up in my head from time to time, my DH thinks I'm mad.

Just found this...

In a rather unexpected turn of events, Disney is changing the name of the well-liked Disney Dining Experience to “Tables in Wonderland”. The announcement also comes with some details on special events cardholders can experience during the 2008 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival:

On the occasion of the 13th annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, we are pleased to announce that we will be launching a new name for the Disney Dining Experience.

Our Festival, which will take place from September 26 – November 9, 2008 will celebrate Cities in Wonderland, and following that theme, your dining club will be named Tables in Wonderland as of September 15, 2008.

This new name will not alter any of your current benefits. We have simply decided to do this to help distinguish your membership from any other dining privileges at Walt Disney World Resort that bares a similar name to the Disney Dining Experience.

You may continue to use your current card until expiration and your renewal card will reflect the new name, Tables in Wonderland.

In addition, we look forward to seeing you during the Festival. The team has planned an exciting line-up of events for the entire 45 days. We are particularly excited about hosting the Bocuse d’Or Culinary Competition on September 26th and September 27th from 11:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on each day.

Chefs Paul Bocuse, Daniel Boulud and Thomas Keller invite you to watch some of the countries top professional chefs compete live to earn the privilege to represent the United States at the renowned Bocuse d’Or International Cuisine Competition in Lyon, France 2009.

Plan to attend this unique event with Al Roker and Dana Cowin, Editor in Chief, Food & Wine Magazine as host emcees. Several celebrity chefs will be judging the Event and will be available for book signings throughout both days. Viewing the Competition is included in park admission.

Also, the Gala Dinner on Saturday, September 27th will be a rare treat and a lot of fun. More information on this event, including the menu will be sent on a separate e-mail . . . an event not to be missed!

We wish you a delicious journey as you explore Cities in Wonderland during the Festival, and as a member of Tables in Wonderland all year around.

A special thanks to Jason Diffendal of WDWCelebrations

I just saw my email from Disney Dining titled "Launching Tables in Wonderland". I opened it thinking I would be seeing some great Food & Wine Festival Information. Instead, this is what it said (which confirms the information you have, Kabuki):

:confused3

So now when I check in for my ADR, I say "I have the Tables in Wonderland Card for the 20% discount" -- just doesn't sound right!!! :rotfl2:

Whaaaat.

Sorry, I'm still going to call it DDE. We still call reservations "priority seatings" and no one blinks an eye.

We are also going to be at the PFTS on the 11th.
Plan right now is to get there about 1/2 hour before doors open (we are skipping the concert).
I'd certainly be interested in meeting up w/other Dis'rs there that night.

I got that same stupid email yesterday. I feel the same way...how dumb it'll sound saying I have my Tables In Wonderland discount card...I think not! I'm with you, I'm still going to say I have my Dining Experience Card.

Hey! I want my email too! ;)

Has anyone else called Disney Dining this morning? They have a new answering system and it starts with a pixiedust: chiming kind of sound! It then goes to a voice prompted system that allows you to zip right through to an agent! I am off to write Disney an attaboy email!

I am on with them right now and definitely did not get this! May just be in 'test' mode. I also may be on with one of those at home reps, I hear water running in the background!

Which will be followed by my "GET RID OF IT" I absolutely HATE voice prompt systems.

(NO I don't believe the little "witch" when she says "I'm sorry, I didn't quite get that". She's not the LEAST bit SORRY she's a A MACHINE!!!!!!!):rotfl2:

I have a friend whose children were noisy while she was on the phone yesterday and the prompts switched over to push buttons instead. Hopefully for those of you who don't like the new system you can just make lots of noise and get the old way! :goodvibes

I got that email 3 times yesterday!

And I think it is a stupid name for a discount card.

I guess they like you more! :rotfl: Seriously though, I got it twice and just figured it was my mail server that did that. I guess now we know Disney is a little wonky.

And I agree...it is a VERY stupid name IMO. Maybe this is the start of them renaming it every year to match the F&W Festival theme.

The DDE people don't like me enough to send me the food and wine booklet or the email telling me that they are changing their name to something lame.

I wonder if they know I exist? :confused3

That's OK, Lori. I didn't get the email either... but I did get the F&W booklet thing... :confused3 go figure...

I hate the new name, too. DDE is much better than TIW...

Ooh! I didn't get a booklet either! What's in it? Should I call and ask for one?
