I got my Entertainment books today, and I've been reading through the offers. I plan to register one for me and one for DH.

In the back under Rules of Use, I found this:
#5. Dining Discount Details...Only one coupon/membership card may be used for every two people, up to a maximum of three coupons/membership cards per party, and separate checks are not allowed. (Then there's more about when dining alone, yadda, yadda, yadda.)

At the B-Line and at Trattoria del Porto a "buy an entree get an entree" offer is available with the Entertainment card. My children order off the adult menu anyway 90% of the time, and we plan to eat at both restaurants. I don't want to be/seem tacky, but saving up to an extra $17 dollars on a meal is a nice little chunk.

Has anyone been able to get two such discounts with two cards for a party of 4? :goodvibes
~OR~
Will the embarrassment of asking my server about this far outweigh the possible discount? :lmao:

I know that all the coupons state that you can only use one offer per visit. So even if you have 2 registered books and 2 legitimate coupons, I doubt they will let you use both on the same visit. (As nice as I know it would be ;) ) Is that what you meant?

Hi Karen! Yeah, that's kind of what I meant. These specific two offers don't involve coupons, though. They are the type of discount where you show your card.
That blurb from the book says that I should be able to get two discounts with my two cards. The thought of asking my server for two discounts makes me feel like my mother-in-law, the condiment collector, however. ;)
So, unless someone has actually gotten two (even though technically we are supposed to), I'm probably not going to ask.

Actually last December we ate at Jungle Jim's with the Entertainment coupon. There were 2 couples and we both used coupons without problems. Even got separate checks.

Oh, good question then. I have never tried to use two cards anywhere. Now I can lurk around here too and wait to see if anyone knows the answer to that because I'd like to know too. I have found that using the actual card itself can be very annoying. Usually you get someone who doesn't know what it is and then they have to go find a manager (which isn't always available) and then people are waiting behind you and you feel bad and it's just a vicious cycle :rotfl:

I don't think it is tacky at all. Will you have two adults and two children? You would be following the rules - one discount for every two people. If that wasn't allowed, the rules should read "one discount allowed per table" or something like that. I would just present both cards and say "This card is for the discount for us two, and that card is for the discount for those two". I would even slip a copy of the "rules" in my bag just in case a server questioned it (but I doubt they would). Don't feel bad at all about doing this, you are following the rules. Heck, people on these boards "bend" rules to their advantage all the time and don't even think twice about it, so don't feel guilty about doing something that is using the discount just as it was meant to be used.

Last year, we went to a mystery dinner theater w/ the in-laws and they had a card and we had a card. We each were able to get buy one get one half off on the dinner/show even though we were at the same table. Just show them your two cards and you should have no problem. As long as you tip on the total before discounts, there is no reason not to use the two cards you've paid for.

Hi all! I'm back today from a fantastic time at Universal. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I asked the hostess at the Peabody's B-Line Diner (she seemed to be some sort of manager, as well) my question about getting two discounts with two Entertainment cards. I told her that I was embarrassed to ask, but was determined to get it over with.
Long story short, she was super! She said that it was very unusual to have two cards, but that they absolutely entitled me to two BOGO offers. She even stamped both cards for me and said she would explain the deal to our server. So, he knew exactly what was going on, without me having to explain anything. She came over to our table to check on us and to remind me that I could still get 20% off our future meals too.
We saved about $30 for dinner, and the food and service were great. We went back the next morning for a fantastic breakfast before checking out, and saved another $7.
I'm glad I asked. :teeth:

I'm so proud of you for being so brave  :cheer2:

Why be embarassed about asking the server about discounts, etc? You're not there to impress the hired help, they are there to impress you. I'm never embarassed to save money--plus, I'll never see them again, anyways.

Thjanks Karen! :)

vhoffman, It's embarrassing if it's tacky, or you are made to feel "cheap". I don't give two hoots about impressing the servers. *I* would be witness to the situation, not to mention my family. You can't escape yourself. I want to look back on my vacation with memories of Oohs and Ahhs, not Uggs and Arrggs. :teeth:

The offer is for Lunch or Dinner only, but you can get 20% discount on Breakfast. :)

Did you use your Universal coupon? If not can I have it? I will pay "great" postage for it.

Hi MickeyP! My DH and older son used the meal portions for a dinner at Margaritaville. They had the Jerk Chicken and the Caesar Salad.

I do still have the other universal coupons that give you a few Universal dollars back when you buy specific tickets. We bought power passes, so didn't need them. I also have one that gives $50 - $100 off a package vacation.
Let me know, if you want these. And the postage is on me. ;)

I also 'think' I have Universal coupons from my Entertainment book that we won't be using if anyone needs them.

I am interested in the movie/meal deal coupon. I would appreciate it if you are not using it. Thank you. :sunny:

I actually got a PM from someone else earlier today about it. I'll let you know if something changes. Sorry, I wish I had another one :(
