Hi,
kirrby! Ah...a shopping question -- my favorite part of QR!
You can earn cash back to your QR account by shopping through the links on our website to over a thousand participating merchants, including PetCareRX!
By going to QR first, and clicking through OUR link to whereever you're shopping, you're activating a tracking link that gives QR sales commission for sending them the potential shopper. We share that sales commission with our members in the form of cash back. You're right -- if you went directly to PetCareRX.com (or any other store), that store would have no way of knowing that you're a QR member and they wouldn't give us sales commission to share with you.
I looked at our details on PetCareRX, and you are correct, you'll earn 6% cashback and 60 tokens per dollar. However, our details on this merchant include a note that prescription medications are not eligible for cashback.
I wasn't sure if Heartgard would be considered a "prescription medication," so I went to their website and sure enough, it's marked with a note "Rx Requires Prescription."
I checked and it's not sold by EntirelyPets, Petco, or Petsmart (at least not online). Pet Care Choice sells it (also with 6% cashback) but it's about 20% more expensive than PetCareRX. If you spend over $100, you can use coupon code FALLCARE for 15% off your order. But in this particular case, it probably just makes more sense to shop through PetCareRX without cashback.
You asked about how the cashback process works -- within a few hours to a few days of shopping through one of our links, the merchant credits us with the sales commission and your portion is automatically credited to your QR account, just like the money you earn from surveys, watching videos, etc. And you can cash it out immediately, just like the other ways to earn on QR.
This is something that makes QR unique: other cashback sites hold your money in a "pending" state until after the deadline has passed for people to return their items to the store for a refund. The reason is that people could make bogus orders, get the cashback, then return the products to the store. When something's returned, the merchant reverses our sales commission... so we would be in the hole. Unlike other cashback sites, we assume people are honest. We just ask our members to let us know if they had to return something so we can adjust their cashback. And you know what? Almost every time, our members DO let us know. People ARE honest. Those that aren't, only burn us once, though! "Fool me once, shame on you...fool me twice..."
Anyway! I hope that answered your questions! Please let me know if you have any others! I'm sorry that PetCareRX won't offer commission / cashback on prescription meds. They do have great prices, though!
