This may sound like an odd question..My kids are still in school until June 18th

I absolutely LOVE Summer.. I live for summer, I did as a kid, and even as an adult. I love the carefree days of summer,no real schedules, no lunch packing, no making sure kids have done their homework, no looking for shoes , backpacks etc..

Yet... I always feel a little sad when the school year ends:confused3
Does anybody else feel that way, or am I just crazy..Its weird, I know, I cant figure it out:confused3

There is so many things coming up, end of year school activities, end of year with girlscout and those activities..all these things are fun and we are all looking forward to them..Yet, I am envisioning my summer with the kids at the pool working on my tan;)
Yet, I still feel a little sad about the end of the school yr ending..

Anybody else???

As a mom, I think it's because it signals another year passing. Another reminder that our kids are growing up. :)

never sad at the end of a school year...always sad at the beginning. I too love the carefree days of summer. WE don't get out till the 22nd. Which is crazy!
My DD finishes up 8th grade and moves on to HS next year. I thought I would be more sad or something, but I just want summer! LOL! 2 kids in MS has been hard!
We have lots of activities coming up and I am sure I will get a little teary eyed....but next fall...will be crying as my baby girl goes to HS!

I'm on the "live for summer" program. I'm so tired of the stress of the school year and looking forward to reconnecting and bonding with my kids, being able to be outside, enjoying family dinners instead of spending that time running kids hither and yon and nagging about homework and early bedtimes.

I hate the start of the school year, that's when I feel sad. Losing my babies to teachers who may bring out the best or the worst in my kids, realizing they're growing up, having to get into all the schedules and packing lunches and crummy weather coming...that's when I feel sad.

No, never. Sorry .

Summer brings with it so many possiblities and fewer responsibilities. I guess if I took a second to think about how it signifies the passing of yet more time and my kids growing up, well I guess I'd be sad. Next summer maybe because my first baby will be graduating HS. Though, to be honest, that feels like a big, fat *woooo hooooo* moment right now.

Don't be sad  go to the beach.

I also hate the beginning of the school year, simply because I LOVE summer...

I know it sounds silly, I would like JUNE to last forever...beacause it seems once July gets it, then you blink and its the end of August, and school is just around the corner :(

For me, its hard, my baby is in Kindergarten this year, and she is in Half day Kindergarten and is home by 11:15am... I AM SO going to miss that next year :(.....I think that is the hardest for me..BUT, next yr I will have kids in three different schools, elementary school, middle school and highschool:scared1:
It scares me that my oldest will be a junior next year. Time goes by so fast.. I sort of wish they were all babies again.

Like I said, I LOVE SUMMER!!!..once I get over the initial saddness school has ended..Ill be working on my golden tan at the pool;)
