Empty Tables at CM

was really surprised when we ate at Chef Mickey last Sunday, 10/20 at 5:30 that almost half the tables were empty. We checked in and were seated in 5 minutes. Last trip (2009) we waited 30 minutes after our ADR to be seated. The restaurant did fill up after 6 but for a place that ADRs are so hard to get it seemed strange to see so many empty tables.

I wonder if people arrive early enough that they would be able to get walk up seating.......

I think they open at 5:00 pm, so you're probably still seeing the effects of staggered seating at opening. They don't want to fill all of the tables as soon as they open because it'll put a tremendous load on the kitchens; imagine everyone in the restaurant heading for the entree buffet at the same time! If they stagger the filling of the tables, it'll distribute out the of guests so that the kitchen can keep up.
