Is it insane to try to do early morning magic and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party in the same day?

Is everyone in your group used to be awake that many hours? Is this your first day at WDW and nobody is exhausted from running around for days before it? Is this your last night and this is your big lets go crazy and stay in the park until they kick us out we'll sleep on the plane tomorrow plan?

To me, I would think it's heading to EMM, then heading back to nap or rest for a few hours and then your back for the christmas party and staying up late. That's a lot of hard tickets and you still need a park ticket because EMM requires regular admission on top of it. I can do it, but I'm not going to be doing much the next day... But for last night, that's a pretty interesting list of things to do and really go hard and then figure out how your going to get back to work soon :)

I don't know if it's insane or not, but that's one very expensive day in the parks. For adults, you're paying around $170 PLUS your park ticket. Kids are $150-160. That's for an 8:00 a.m. to midnight day. That's a lot of money for an extra 1-3 hours.

NONSTOP? No break or naps?

Totally depends on your party for sure.

I've done the 24 Hour so I know I could do it .... but I don't know that I would actually pay all that extra money to exhaust myself.

That all depends on how many days worth of tickets they purchased. If you're going to be there for a week the cost of a 6 day ticket to a 7 day ticket doesn't add much more than just the cost of the party ticket.

We are going to do both on the same day, but plan on taking a big mid day break.

I agree with previous posters - it depends on your party and the circumstances of your trip. If you have an energetic group and there's really only one day that you can do these things - go for it! If you have smaller children or anyone else in your group that would tire easily, and/or you have a longer trip with the option of doing these events on separate days, I wouldn't push to do them on the same day.

My DD and I plan to attend the MK EMM and MNSSHP on the same day because we're only going for a weekend. We have no idea whether or not EMM will continue to be offered the next time we visit, so we want to try it now while we have the opportunity. We will take a long midday break and also have time to sleep in the next morning before our flight home.

True, but it's still an extra $170 for a possible 3 extra hours. That's a lot to me. I can almost see it for beesly up there who is only going for the weekend and this makes it possible to maximize their time. But for anyone who's there for five or more days, and has the opportunity for one of the longer regular days at MK, it would not be worth it to me.
