I thought it would be neat to try to get all the EMH Q & A's in one big on-going thread. There are never any shortage of questions about EMH.

And so here's an attempt to collect the collective knowledge all in one spot!

Q:
If we get to Epcot before PM EMH starts, where do we get our EMH bracelets?
Is it easier to get on Soarin' at the PM EMH, and when would you suggest trying it?

AM EMH tip:
We have done am EMHs and highly recommend getting there before the EMH, getting a bunch done before everyone else gets there, and then hopping to another park after lunch.

this might help you out go here http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/common/helpFAQ?id=HelpFAQThemeParkPage#q9 to read all about the theme park FAQ's. However, the short answer to your question is also from the FAQ page about the EMH which states:

Q. What type of ticket do I need to take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours benefit?

A. In addition to being a Disney Resort guest, a valid Theme park ticket is required. To get the most out of the Extra Magic Hours benefit, add the Park Hopper® Option for optimal flexibility. If you do not have the Park Hopper® Option and would like to take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours Benefit, your Theme Park selection must be the Park offering the Extra Magic Hours benefit that day. Remember, without the Park Hopper® Option, you can only visit one Theme Park per day. Please plan ahead and check the schedule.

To take advantage of Extra Magic Hours at the Water Parks, you must have a Resort I.D. and the Water Park Fun & More Option on your Magic Your Way Ticket or a One Day Water Park Ticket for the Park offering the Extra Magic Hours benefit that day.

Q. What credentials do I need to take advantage of the evening Extra Magic Hours benefit?

A. A valid theme park ticket and Resort I.D. are required. For the evening Extra Magic Hours benefit, you also need to use your Resort I.D. to pick up a wristband at select locations in the Theme Park (Note: Resort I.D.s required for each member of your party). Wristbands may be picked up at select locations in the Theme Park that is open for Extra Magic Hours no sooner than two hours before regular park closing. Wristbands are not needed for the morning Extra Magic Hours benefit.

To take advantage of Extra Magic Hours at the Water Parks, you must have a Resort I.D. and the Water Park Fun & More Option on your Magic Your Way Ticket or a One Day Water Park Ticket for the Park offering the Extra Magic Hours benefit that day. ::MickeyMo

Q:
If we get to Epcot before PM EMH starts, where do we get our EMH bracelets?

There are bracelet stations set up at various locations throughout the park. If you cant' find one, just ask any CM and they can direct you. They're pretty hard to miss.

Is it easier to get on Soarin' at the PM EMH, and when would you suggest trying it?

This greatly depends on a number of factors. If they're not doing FP's during that particular evening's EMH, then very late in the evening should be pretty good.

Hope this helps!

Q:
If we get to Epcot before PM EMH starts, where do we get our EMH bracelets?

Epcot:
  • Main Entrance Plaza just past the megaliths with the Leave a Legacy pictures.
  • Innoventions East Breezeway between Electric Umbrella and MouseGears
  • Innoventions West Breezeway between Innoventions West and Fountainveiw Cafe
  • International Gateway on the incline from the turnstiles as you approach the promenade
  • Mexico area near the path from World Showcase to the Oddessey Restaurant/Baby Care Center

Might as well give the Magic Kingdom EMH distribution locations as well. At MK wristband distribution begins 3 hours prior to the regularly scheduled park closing and continues at all locations until 1.5 hours before EMH closing.
  • Main Entrance Plaza on both sides of the "Mickey Floral" display
  • Caribbean Plaza in El Pirata y el Perico across from the entrance to Pirates of the Caribbean attraction
  • Liberty Square on the Riverboat Landing if the boat has stopped running prior to the start of wristband distribution or in the open space between Columbia Harbor House and the outdoor seating area by the outdoor vending carts
  • Fantasyland beside Pinocchio's Village Haus. Enter through the restaurant courtyard and wristbanders will be on the far end in the open area not far from the restrooms
  • Tomorrowland near Space Mountain in the breezeway area that formerly housed the Skyway to Fantasyland.

After these locations close down there will still be a couple of wristbanders at the main entrance turnstiles and another pair of wristbanders at the Hub near the Partners statue. They'll usually remain out until about 30 minutes prior to EMH closing.

Hi all

Apologies if this has been asked before but I'm confused about the additional hours (until 2-3am etc.) in the parks.

I might be sounding silly here, but how do they get the people out of the parks who aren't staying at a resort?!?!?!?!

No real reason for knowing - just curious 'cos it sounds strange!

Thanks!
See I knew there would be a perfectly sensible explanation - I am officially blonde!!!

How about at MGM? We have a 3:35 reservation at the Sci-fi. Where would we go to get bracelets afterwards? Thanks for the help!

Honestly, since they closed my favorite attractions at the Studios I rarely head over there so I'm not as familiar with the wristband locations. Just like at Epcot, wristband distribution begins 2 hours before the regularly scheduled park closing time. I believe these are the locations:
  • Corner of Hollywood and Vine sort of behind Keystone Clothiers - turn left just past Mickey's of Hollywood and then immediately bear right
  • Next to Superstar TV Theatre to the left of the Big Ugly Hat
  • The Courtyard near RnRC
  • Radio Disney Courtyard next to Sounds Dangerous

And to complete the list, here are the wristband distribution locations at DAK:
  • Main Entrance Oasis - Near Garden Gate Gifts (just past stroller rental)
  • It's Tough to be a Bug! FASTPASS location
  • Harambe School in Africa (sort of between the entrances for Kilimanjaro Safari and the Wildlife Express to Rafiki's Planet Watch
  • Kali River Rapids FASTPASS location
  • DinoLand U.S.A. - Near Chester & Hester's Dinosaur Treasures

Going in late Sept this time so shorter park hrs and I want to take advantage of every minute!!

9/21 EMH at Epcot FW "closes" at 7pm and WS at 9pm.

EMH until midnight (I hope)?

Thanks!!!

If you are a guest at one of the Disney Resorts and want to stay for Evening Magic Hours, do you need to get a wristband?

You Betcha!

Here's how EMH works for all 4 Theme Parks.

Look up the POSTED open and close times
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/calendar/parkhours/index?id=MKCalendarParkHoursMonthlyViewPage
Pick your Park. Pick your Month.
>> Click on your DATE> <<
Disney publishes dates and times approximately 6 months in advance.
Make sure to check back often, as times and events are subject to change as the actual dates get nearer. The hours listed do NOT INCLUDE the EMH hour(s) so they would be in ADDITION to the posted hours.

For EMH, click on the WORDS > "Extra Magic Hours" < on the official calendar.
Or click HERE:
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/calendar/extraMagicHour?id=CalendarExtraMagicHoursPage

Only WDW resort guests staying on-property will be allowed EHM privileges and it COSTS NOTHING EXTRA to attend the EMHs.
There are slightly different situations for MORNING and EVENING EMH's.

-------MORNING EMH FACTS--------------------------------------
If it is a MORNING EMH, then WDW resort guests staying on-property will be allowed entry to THAT park on THAT day starting ONE HOUR before the posted opening time.
At least ONE person in your party should have a room key-card with them (sometimes EACH person needs to show one) to verify your current hotel status and gain entry.
So, only WDW resort guests will be ALLOWED INTO the park.
Once inside, only selected attractions will be open.
See the official WDW website for the latest attractions that will be open during EMH.

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/calendar/extraMagicHour?id=CalendarExtraMagicHoursPage

-------EVENING EMH FACTS--------------------------------------
If it is a EVENING EMH, then WDW resort guests staying on-property will be allowed to stay and ride attractions at THAT park on THAT day for THREE HOURS after the posted closing time. (Don't worry that the site says, "UP TO 3 hours." Thats just legalese... EMH will be 3 hours in the evening.)
You do NOT have to be in the park BEFORE scheduled closing time.
You CAN enter the park at any time during EMH and still get a wristband.
You can leave and re-enter the park at will (just like any normal time).

(So, YES, if MK is sched. to close at midnight, the EMH will run til 3AM! Yep, that's 3 in the morning. No, its not a mistake, that would be 3 full hours after the posted time.)
At Epcot, all of the EMH attractions in both FW and WS will remain open. (Ignore FW's "7pm Closing Time".)

All adults and children 3 years and older will be issued a room key-card when you check in to your WDW resort (if they are listed on your ressie). If they are not issued a key-card, you will have problems with EMH, because EACH guest (except for very small children) will need to show a room key-card to a CM at special "EMH kiosks" set up in various locations throughout the park. Kiosks are well-marked and are very easy to spot as you are walking in the parks. They open up these kiosks approx. 2 hours before the "regular" park closing time, and a wristband will be snapped on by the CM to each adult and child. There is usually a wristband station just inside the gate.
So make SURE the check-in desk issues EACH person in your party a room key-card. An adult can hold onto all the cards for the kids, but don't forget to bring the cards to the park.
They do not "run out" of wristbands, so you will each be able to get one, even if the park is busy.
Most nights the CMs will SCAN your room-key-card so that it can only be used to get a single wristband that evening. The ride CMs will then check for these wristbands at each attraction before allowing guests to enter the queue.
So, even though non-resort guests may still be INSIDE the park, only those with wristbands will be allowed to ride any open EMH attractions.
See the official WDW website for the latest attractions that will be open during EMH.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
You can enter the parks for EMH EVENINGS anytime... during "regular" hours, or even during the actual extended EMH hours.
This 1-hour morning EMH and 3-hour evening EMH rule applies at all 4 parks. Enjoy!

EMH till midnight. Some aspects of FW will close at 7pm but for the most part, many parts of FW will also stay open till 12 mid.

Enjoy!

Thank you both! We are planning, as of right now, to leave MK late afternoon b/c we don't have tickets for MNSSHP, and hop over to EP, and it just so happens it's pm EMH, so I was curious how that works.
In reality, some, if not all, of our group might just be too beat to do both. LOL
But I prefer to be prepared. ;)
Thanks again!

On the morning do the parks open 1 hour early and on the evening stay open 3 hours late?? We are going September 14-24. Thanks!!!
