Embroidery

I'm making me and DH bathrobes and I want to have a Minnie and Mickey embroider on them. I know you can have stuff embroidered at the Christmas Shop in DD. Can you bring your own stuff to be embroidered??

I doubt it. When we tried to bring our own tshirt(not to Disney), the place said we needed to buy one of theirs. That way if they messed it up, they could replace it.
They did not want to take responsibility if something was wrong with the embroidery or the shirt.

But, it does not hurt to ask. Do they have a number you could call ahead of time?

Brother makes a Disney embroidery disc to work in the Brother Embroidery machine. If you know someone who has the machine, it may be worth buying the disc and having them do it for you. Maybe they would even split the price of the disc with you (about $50 at Wal-Mart).

I was in the christmas store in DTD on May 16 this year. I was picking up GOH badges and was in the area that they do the embroidery. It took forever cause there was a woman that could not make up her mind on what disney figures she wanted on a bright pink shirt and short set that there was no way she purchased in WDW. It was quite expensive.... A timkerbell and her name on the shirt and a tinkerbell on the shorts was 30$ I think. they said they could have it ready in 4 hours I think... Not too bad.

I like the shop at MGM much better than the Christmas shop... don't know why, just seems to give me better results. That said, the MGM shop has a sign that they will only work with new, Disney merchandise. You can buy it in another shop (across the street I bought a hat), but it'd got to be Disney.

The Christmas shop may be different.

I think your best bet will be finding someone locally who does custom embroidery.

dizzy, another less expensive alternative may be to check out the Disney appliques at Wal-Mart (less than $2 apiece). You can just sew them on yourself.
