Howdy! I'll be going on my first Disney cruise this October, on the Dream. YAY! I'll have my mom with me, and my 5 year old daughter - a girls' generations trip!

I am SUPER excited, and a planner - I was wondering what your tips are for Embark day.

(Also what are your tips to ensure we can ride the AquaDuck tons of times without a long wait?!)

Thanks!!

$2 per bag.

If you can, take your swimsuits with you when you board. Also, any port day the AquaDuck will be less busy, and it if is raining or snowing on board lines are shorter! Also, earlier in the morning on sea days and in the evenings.

Will the AquaDuck have short lines on embarkation day?

Go immediately on board to get your meet and greet tickets. Last January we did Anna and Elsa and the princesses. Disney Jr. was already full

Yes the aquaduck is crowded during the day (except at first, of course), but in the evening the lines are shorter and the nighttime ride is amazing. You have dinner and a show, but if you forgo the show you may have the aqueduct almost to yourself! (we did a couple of nights). But...the show is great.

Another tip: do not miss the going away party. It is almost an emotional experience, with the crowd action, the characters, the films, the music, the dancing.....

Meet and greet tickets, of course. Palo reservations at their podium if you want to do Palo. We always prefer lunch up top, the access to food is really easy and the view of the port area beautiful.

Go to the side of the ship and wave to all the onlookers who are ashore as you are pulling out of port.

At dinner, take time to make real eye contact with your servers, ask them about themselves, give them a little respect, and you have found the magic key to opening the door to an amazing experience with them during your cruise. Talk to any CM doing anything...they are all so wonderful. The counselors, waiters, room stewards, painters, deck sweepers, coffee shop staff, lounge performers, bartenders, everyone. We have a 100% success rate in engaging, interesting conversations with hundreds of crew members, and have heard some wonderful stories.

My tip for the Aqua Duck -- Ride before you get off at Castaway Cay. No line at all.
We ate breakfast at Cabanas and noticed as we were walking across the deck that there was no one in line. We were already in our swimsuits so it was perfect.

Hit the ticketed meet and greet line, sign-up for any tasting classes wishing to join, do the Oceaneers Club/Lab open house for the little one, and hit Cabana's earlier than later (as can get busy). Swimsuits in the carry-on a must as PP indicates for the Aquaduck (and you'll see many eating outside on the pool by Cabana's after having done first).

Do the adult beverage tasting tickets run out early or can I get tickets (or not) more spontaneously on the day they are offered?

We got ours on a recent cruise from Guest Services around 15 minutes prior to the start time. We may have just gotten lucky.

Have your little one wear her bathing suit under her outfit. That way, head to the pool area and jump right in!!!
