Embarassing Things Seen

I embarrased myself at Typhoon Lagoon coming down the Humunga Kowabunga. Not sure if that's how you spell it but ya'll know what I'm talking about. I wasn't scared at all and it was fun until right towards the end when I felt my bathing suit bottom go up in my $#%^. It HURT like the dickens. Then, I stood up and it was half hanging off of me.

Never again...

O.K. so I'm understanding this now. NO WATERSLIDES!!!:o

I have been chuckling reading this thread.
Thank you all for giving me a good chuckle tonight.

Here is my "most embarrassing thing" that I witnessed. It was about 20 years ago, and still is fresh in my memory.
I was in Disney as a young teen with my sister and parents. Hot August day. Waiting in line forever for the Jungle Cruise. Lady in front of me lifts her arms to stretch and she had so much underarm hair that she had it braided and had a ponytail holder on the end. I thought I was going to hurl right there. To this day I shave my armpits daily (even if I don't think I needed it). What an impression she made on me!

A few years ago at the pool at the GF there was a 50-something woman with a turban and a very tiny thong bikini on. Her top didn't match the bottom, so we assume she was foreign and used to being topless at the beach or pool. I'm a fan of bikinis, but I do believe in covering certain parts of one's anatomy, especially in WDW with a ton of little kids around. She paraded around endlessly to the sound of millions of giggles from the kids around the pool and questions as to why her butt was hanging out. I guess we are repressed Americans when it comes to nudity, but it sure is a shock what some people feel comfortable in!

The most embarrassing thing I've witnessed at WDW happened at TL in the wave pool. An older gentleman was splashing around and unprepared for the tidal wave. Poor guy lost his toupee (wig) when the big wave hit. It floated by my kids 7&9 at the time and scared the bejezus out of them!

I'll never forget when I lived in Germany going to a conference and staying at a hotel with a swimming pool and sauna. I walked into the sauna, and to my shock, there were about 3 naked guys lounging around. I squeeked an "excuse me", and beat a quick retreat. I could just see them snickering..."Americans!" LOL

It's funny how modest Americans are compaired to the Europeans. But that being said, I cannot imagine going to a sauna in the states and being greeted by some guy mooning me. It DOES make you wonder what he was doing before you arrived. Personally, that's why I stay away from hot tubs used by the public, too many potentialy nasties floating around in them. They say the clorine kills the germs, but UG!

I lived in Germany for 3 years and nudity is everywhere! I saw a billboard with a fully naked man on it, and in gas stations they have about 50 different magazines with naked women on the covers just right out in the open! Oh, and don't even get me started about the public pools or lakes!:earseek:

Thanks Nick! Where were you with the smiley faces when I needed them ;)

My husband and I were at Typhoon Lagoon standing in line for that ride where you get on the big yellow tubes (can't remember the name). Anyway, there was a guy in front of us who was pushing the 350lb mark. He had on a tiny little speedo/thong type bathing suit. Not to gross anyone out, but you couldn't even see it because it was hidden under flesh. The worst part was, he was with his young daughter - probably about 7 or 8. I felt so bad for this girl that people were pointing and staring at her and her father. I understand there are different bathing suit styles across the globe, but at some point you have to realize that it just doesn't look good on you!

We were swimming (funny how it's always swimming) at the Dixie Landings pool at night, there weren't too many people around, and this European man (not sure what country) and his young daughter were playing around in the pool. Then as a joke the man pulled down daughter's bikini bottom, while holding her out of the pool. She squeeked, "Daddy!" playfully and pulled them up after a few moments. She then went on playing and she might've attempted to pull down his. She was unsuccesful, though. But needless to say, I was shot with a full view of her private parts for awhile, then she spun around trying to pull them back up and I got the other end. Needless to say I was shocked. Another time I was walking out of a bathroom at AK when these two friends were standing there, both boys around 10-11, and the other kid pulled his friend's shorts down as a joke. The de-pantsed boy said "Idiot!" and pulled them back up.

Americans definitely have a different sense of nudity and what is normal than Europeans or other foreigners.

Several months ago there was a very similar post about an incident at AKL in the spa, similar enough that I looked at the posting date for this one. Though I think in that case it was a couple going at it. It must be something about the water there.

:magnify: My DH and I were eating at LTT on 12/16/03, before going to MVMCP! An I assume, an extended family sat down across from us. First, grandma, and grandpa arrived with two female children, then about ten minutes later here comes a male & female I believe in late 30's or early 40's. The female sat with her back to us!! "Those low slung jeans are not for everyone!!"
I looked over, and in full few to us and a few other tables was this females (BUTT CRACK!!) EWWWWWW!!!!!!! ICK!!!!!!!!!!
I noticed a male waiter notice, and pass on info to a hostess, there was a lot of snickering going on in the LTT that evening!!!

:earsgirl: Shopgirl

I didn't see this but my son and my niece did when we were at Stormalong Bay in 1998 while staying at the YC. There was an old European man with speedos on who got out of the water and then took off his swimming trunks. He just stood there stark naked drying himself off. My neice said it was pretty gross. Ugh!
:o

Haha, Europeans, gotta love em! I remember going on a tour in Germany on a bus. The bus stopped for a potty-break, and I thought, "but there aren't any bathrooms!". You can imagine my surprise when I looked out the window and there's a line of men, about 3 feet from the bus, all going pee. :hyper: Thankfully, there were facing AWAY from the bus! :teeth:

Of course, after you get used to it, having two boys, we would just pull over to the side of the road to let them do their business too. You know...when in Rome. Was great, until we returned to the states and I found my 5-year-old watering the flowers off the front porch (if you know what I mean)

This didn't happen at WDW but the last post reminded me of something that happened when I was younger. I was only 7 years old and was on holiday with my parents in Spain. I was sitting out on the balcony with my friend whilst my parents were in the room. Suddenly this naked German guy appeared next to us (please don't think all europeans think going naked in public is O.K us British are a little more reserved about this!!). Aparently the roof terrace at the side of the hotel was a nudist bathing area but the door had locked all the people out. So this guy climbed over the railings onto our balcony (even though we were 20 floors up!) to ask us if we could go unlock the door from the inside for them so they could get back to their rooms!! He didn't batter an eyelid and spoke to us in perfect English. To this day I always check if my hotel has a nudist bathing area and make sure my room is well away from it!!:o
