It is a very long ride. If they can sit still for a long period of time, try it. We find it very boring and stay away.

A yay for sure. The actual ride portion is not that long, however when coupled with the promo film and then the show film before the ride begins, it's a little bit long. It's definitely worth doing.

its very long and you cannot just walk out since it is a slow moving ride and not just a show.

personally i've always liked it but then again i grew up in the 90's when bill nye the science guy was popular with kids my age.

and i've always liked that is nice and dark and cool and a good place to rest your feet.

if you think your kids can sit still for a half hour then it can be a very relaxing experience.

My kids both loved it at ages 9 and 7. They found the Ellen film funny (and were amazed to realize that she was the voice of Dory), liked the science, and loved the dinosaurs.

My kids sat calmly for it no problem but it is not something they ask to do (they were 6&7 yrs old). I on the other hand fell asleep last time.

I've seen kids (of all ages) napping on it but I wouldn't say that's a bad thing... (it's like 45 min long from preshow to end)

Definitely yay! The show is very funny, educational and entertaining! It reminds me of Epcot's past. Edutainment factor is in full force here!

We do this every trip. It is VERY loud at times and you might consider earplugs.

We like it because it is a great place to take a break. I say go for it, worst case scenario your kids get a 30 min nap. It is s win-win in my book.

One of the best naps in all of Disney World Only partially kidding. I seldom nap through it, but it IS very relaxing, and a solid 40 minutes inside an air conditioned show building. That is not a bad thing during August heat (when we always visit) in Disney World.

I say go. I know a lot of people knock it but it is entertaining if you have never been. My son loved it at that age and still enjoys it at 14. It is also a nice break for your feet so do it later in the day.

The pre-show is pretty funny the first time , then rather boring. I find the trip through the dinosaurs to be amazing even after the many times! It's just great, yes dated, but still impressive. I always go on this ride at least twice. BTW, I'm 57 years old. LOL

My kids absolutely insist on going through this on every trip! They were 5 and 7 on their first trip, 12 and 14 last year. I think it's okay. They feel Epcot isn't complete until they've seen Ellen!!!

they do make it clear that once the ride starts, you cannot leave the ride vehicle for any reason, as the entire ride would have to be shut down and reset and the guests evacuated. Make sure everybody visits the loo before you get on.

It's worth a try if you've never been on it. The video is so dated though and once you've seen it, you've seen it. I would like them to make some updates to the video especially, but I do like the concept of the attraction.

I remember when "The Science Guy" was a character Bill Nye did on his Seattle-based sketch comedy show. He took the character legit, which was great, but the Ellen attraction must be his very lowest point as "Bill Nye The Science Guy." The so-called science in that show is pure garbage, and Bill Nye knew it but he recited the lines anyway. Perhaps his contract with Disney forced him to shill for the oil industry, but wow! His credibility cannot possibly recover until every copy of that video is burned.

Edit: I forgot to share my view with OP that the Ellen attraction is not fit for humans of any age.

Definitely go. There isn't tons for kids at Epcot and Ellen is a great attraction. Who knows, they might even learn something. It might be "boring" to some adults who have seen it over and over, but I think for most kids it would be great.

It's a "yay". Especially for a kid who loves dinosaurs. There's a word for the "haters"....Stupid Judy!!
