Ellen's Energy Adventure... 45 minutes... really????

I'm an Ellen fan too. It is kind of a long ride, but if it's a hot day, it's nice to be in the AC for awhile and get cooled off.

It is that long, and they do make warnings before the ride starts about it's length, and that once it starts you won't be able to get off. I don't ride it that much, it's not that great and it takes so much time out of the day.

The Dinosaur section really is the best part - it's the sort of ride to go on when it's boiling hot outside and you need a long sit and cool down. :thumbsup2

Last few times Ive been there, over the summer, its been closed. Is it open again?

I don't remember any dinosaurs on Ellen's Energy. It is just a very big screen show. It is rly about 45 minutes. DH and I didn't know and we were seated closed, gave us a headache by the time the 45 min was up

:confused3
Perhaps you were rendered unconscious by the ferocity of the Big Bang?
Or the emotional stress of Ellen's distress caused you to faint?
Or maybe you're just a Jamie Lee Curtis fan, still upset by the outcome of Final Jeopardy...? (yes, it WAS a trick question!)

It is a MUST DO for us and always has been! When they reworked it with Ellen they just made it that much better. It is long but it really does not feel like you are in there that long.

I really like the fact they did not rework ellen out of it, even if they did close Buy the Book in DHS.:sad1:

This show/ride is SOOOOO long. We thought it was cute the first few times, but it is boring now. We like the jeopardy part better than the ride itself. The animatronic Ellen and dinosaurs are a bit, uh, rough.

Yup, it's that long.

I don't ride it every trip, but I like the ride and the movies and all of it. :thumbsup2

My apologies to the OP, I guess there really are dinosaurs! :rotfl:

Now that people mention it I guess I do kind of remember going through a dino scene, don't they have an animatronic of Ellen as well?

Hmmm...maybe I did fall asleep? :rotfl2:

The ride is long but it is air conditioned, you're sitting for all of it (except the quick film at the beginning) and it's dark. My kids loved it this summer. It's a great place to rest for a bit. We used it to avoid a t-storm that was approaching. The skies were clear by the time we got out.

I wish they would update it somehow though...

It's long, and only and OK ride, good for a rest. Not being a fan of Ellen or Bill Nye we try and hit it so that we can skip the movie part, just be the first into the theater as the previous group is leaving, and attach yourself to them. Sometimes works anyway. Then you only have the 37 min ride, which is tolerable. I think my youngest DD took a nice nap through it last time we went, wich was great, she was ready to go on after that.

We love Ellens Energy Adventure. It is quite long, but I find the story and information quite interesting.

Plus we love Ellen and Bill Nye

If not for the pure enjoyment, it is a great way to rest in the parks without having to track down a shady/cool spot or having to go back to your resort.

I have never done it before, but this year will be the first. Years ago when I was still like a 12 year old little girl in side and I had to go from ride to ride, I wouldn't take 20 minutes out of my time to sit through a show/ride let alone 45:laughing: Now I think I could manage to do that seeing as how this year will mark at least from what I can remember my 15th time at Disney. It's nice because we can do things at our leisure and with no small kids we don't have to prioritize based on what they like/can do.

I am looking forward to Ellen's ride. I heard it was pretty decent and at least is good for 1 time to try it out and see what it's all about. It is a nice break in between the day too, especially if it starts raining or about to rain. By the time you get off chances are the clouds have passed and the sun's shining again. :)

don't they have an animatronic of Ellen as well?
Sort of. It's on the scale of Sigourney Weaver in TGMR, in other words, not one of Disney's finest efforts in animatronics. But if you listen to the voice-over and go with the fact that it has on the same clothes as the "movie" Ellen, yup, it's Ellen! :rotfl2:

I've had children of mine *beg to go on "that long ride with the dinosaurs!" after a few hours of June heat at Epcot!! :rotfl: It's a nice, cool break in the middle of a hot day! We enjoy it!

It's also a great place for a nap, to get out of heat/cold, and to spend a mid-afternoon thunderstorm.

For added thrills, try convincing one of the more gullible members of your party that there's a "big drop" towards the end. Ah, fun with the little brother....

I agree. I don't love it, but it's a great place to relax and be mildly entertained.

And :lmao:.

I remember doing this for the first time this past May & I WILL NEVER GO ON IT AGAIN.

45 min ride was just a waste of time & it was soooo boring! They really need to invent a new ride in the area.

I looooove dino's but this was not worth it.
