Elisabeth Hasselbeck annoys me!

I think the problem was that Elisabeth didn't stick up for Rosie when she was on Fox news. I never watch "Faux" news, but here's what I thought happened: EH was on Fox and they were saying something bad about Rosie (that was NOT true) and E didn't stick up for her or anything. If a so-called friend did that to me, I'd be upset, too...

:thumbsup2 I'd be LIVID! I dunno how woman deal with this, but with men....NOT defending your Friends is a HUGE PROBLEM. We call guys like that SNAKES!

But it is okay with Elizabeth interrupts because unless you are a fat lesbian...you are interrupting with class.

oooooooooooooooo thats how it works!

well Rosie asked abc to let her out of her contract early and I am so crushed, she makes me laugh and I was sad to see her go in the first place!
The View was boring b4 she came on it!

i think they are both being used to improve ratings as much as possible before rosie leaves. that split screen mess and the lack of commercial makes me feel this way. the only thing left was for them to actually fight. i just wonder if rosie and elisabeth are too stupid to figure this out or too greedy to care how they come off.

Elizabeth is too stupid to figure out that she is being used. I think that Rosie was caught off guard and her emotions got the best of her. IMHO Elizabeth stabbed her in the back. Rosie has asked for an early out, that tells me that she is not going to let herself be used to boast the ratings, I think she figured it out.

Well, it's all kinda sad.
That's me done as a viewer that is for certain.
Hope it isn't too long before they get rid of little, piggy-squealer Elisabeth!:rolleyes1

Does anyonw here really think that those 2 have ever been friends?
They are co-workers and that is it. Would you honestly defend a co-worker who treated you like trash the way Rosie treats Elisabeth or anyone else who disagrees with her.

can you tell me what this is? when I click on it, it has a sort of slide show at the top of the page and the rest of the page is blank....:confused3 (definitely could be a user issue!)

oopsss....I guess I hadn't let the page load all the way! Got it now.

I have to say I'm glad to see Rosie go. I've never cared for her. She always seems to be in attack mode and just an all around bitter person. Now I can watch The View again.

I doubt you'll be watching for long...my guess is the ratings will drop considerably. Who wants to watch Elisabeth and Joy? Unless they get someone who is controversial and interesting, The View will be history! I know I won't bother to watch anymore...

Bottom line, the View turned into an absolute mess of a show. I feel bad for everyone all around. It certainly shouldn't have gotten to this point and no matter how you feel about either one of the ladies, both EH and Rosie's reputation have been damaged. Its a rotten shame. I have to believe that in some small part, the View has thoroughly enjoyed this cat fight and the attention its getting even if it comes at the expense of others. I guess, in the pursuit of ratings, it must be ok. :sad2:

Your observation is exactly what has gone on all along and is why Rosie has left. Personally on Thursday's show Elisabeth should have apologized for her part of a public spat and Rosie should have done the same when she returned on Tuesday. For Barbara Walters to sit there and act like nothing took place or allude to it very matter of factly made me lose all respect for her. She acted like Elisabeth had no part in it.

The bottom line is that Rosie was not "in charge" as she prefers to be. Elizabeth stood up to her fatness and she did not like it. Barbara did not do anything because she had been tired of Rosie's act for a while.

Although I share EH's conservative leanings, I think that it's unfortunate for her to be the only conservative voice on the panel. I think that a part of her may feel she needs to utilize the Republican talking points to simply get a point across, which unfortunately often comes across as as far right as Rosie was far left. When Rosie, Joy, and whatever guest host on that day are against her, she is the only one to voice that opposing view.

I don't watch the show, but anytime any of these feuds came up this year, I felt bad for EH having to be the one dissenting voice amongst the other women panelists.

marybet - i agree with you. eh is young and may actually believe that abc would value her view. i didn't read all of this post and hadn't heard that rosie had quit when i posted (lesson - always read the whole post!). the funny thing is that i don't always agree with rosie but she has made me think and read about a lot of issues that i didn't pay attention to before. i also agree with above comments about long lasting effects for eh and rosie's careers.
rosie will survive-don't know about eh.

sometimes watching tv is sad. if used properly it is a wonderful tool but it's hard to know what to believe. too bad walter cronkite has retired. (showing my age)

I was a long time Rosie fan. I use to love to watch her comedy show on VH1 before she had her own show.

I worked during the day and wasn't able to watch her show much, but for some reason the day of Tom Selleck I was home and was watching. I was never a Tom Selleck fan, I don't think I have ever seen Magnum PI, but after that show, he was my new hero. The poor man was sick. He was so horse he was hard to hear and understand, but she came after him and blindsided him about gun control. I am NOT a NRA supporter, but you don't attack someone who is a guest on your show to support his movie. He kept telling her he was sick and just wanted to talk about his movie, but she wouldn't let up. She later said it was the stress of Columbine that made her do it.

She then went on to have her own magazine which I was a subscriber to by default. I was a subscriber to McCalls, so when it became Rosie, that's the magazine that I got. She had "artistic differences" with the staff and went so far as to tell her boss "she hopes she dies from cancer" The woman had breast cancer, Rosies mom died from breast cancer, and she could still be that hateful to another woman??????

I was a view listener because I work during the day, but I can listen to it on the radio. I loved the early shows with Meredith and crew. Once Meredeth left, it started to suffer. I don't think people realized how she kept the show together and moving until she was gone.

Rosie was a train wreck waiting to happen. She would bully people and then cry foul. Why is it ok that she bullied Elizabeth day after day, but yet the first time Elizabeth stood up to her she cried foul. I don't like Elizabeth. I think Rachel would have been a much better co-host, but now that someone pointed out that she was a stronger republican than Elizabeth, I think Rachel has a political science degree and has worked for several candidates. I see why they hired Elizabeth over her. Elizabeth was a celebrity, not an actual republican spokesperson that was well versed in the party. I think people from the republican party may have been coaching her to help her get her point across, but she still has a way to go. I think before Elizabeth started getting help from the right, Rosie didn't take her seriously, but now that she makes appearances on other talk shows, Rosie was threatened and decided to fight back in the way she does best. Cause a commotion and walk away.

I think Barbara needs to take a long look at what her show has become and either clean house and start fresh with a totally different person to fill Rosies roll and a new person to fill Starrs place instead of the revolving door of co hosts. I don't think Roseanne Barr is the right person, but neither is Kathie Lee Gifford. Barbara has a lot to do this summer if she is going to save the show.

I haven't read all the pages so can I ask this question?

Now that Rosie left a few weeks early, will EH getting the heat and blame for it?
I don't think it would be fair to do that. Rosie has had her many differenves and squables on the show.
To quit over a argument with EH shows Rosie is being immature over this incident.
She should come back and fight like she normally does.
Or does she think she herself finally think stepped over the line ?
