Elisabeth Hasselbeck annoys me!

I was a long time Rosie fan. I use to love to watch her comedy show on VH1 before she had her own show.

I worked during the day and wasn't able to watch her show much, but for some reason the day of Tom Selleck I was home and was watching. I was never a Tom Selleck fan, I don't think I have ever seen Magnum PI, but after that show, he was my new hero. about his movie, but she wouldn't let up. She later said it was the stress of

That was a turning point for me with her - loved her - but after that show - I just couldn't take her any more.

It's one thing to debate your issues- and another one to attack somebody that didn't come on your show for a debate or to even talk about the topic she brought up. Plus - she doesn't debate - she argues with the belief that she's right and everybody else is wrong.

When she leaves the damn politics out of it - I can enjoy her - but she doesn't do that.

As for EH - loved her on Survivor - despise her now. I never understood why they brought her on there - as far as I am concerned she can go too...

Love Joy - LOVED Meredith - Can take Barbara although I think she's too damn uptight and stuffy for a "casual" show.... I'd love to see somebody like Meredith again - a journalist that doesn't always taker herself so damn seriously....

He was so horse he was hard to hear and understand, but she came after him and blindsided him about gun control. I am NOT a NRA supporter, but you don't attack someone who is a guest on your show to support his movie. He kept telling her he was sick and just wanted to talk about his movie, but she wouldn't let up. She later said it was the stress of Columbine that made her do it.

I agree with you. I loved her show in the beginning. She used to tape it in my building. The first 2 years I went to tapings as a standby and it was fun. She was friendly in between commercials.
I went to a taping in her last season and what a difference!
She barely acknowledged the audience :sad2:

I liked her early in her career but her head got to big to handle.

Does anyonw here really think that those 2 have ever been friends?
They are co-workers and that is it. Would you honestly defend a co-worker who treated you like trash the way Rosie treats Elisabeth or anyone else who disagrees with her.
Rosie used to defend Elizabeth A LOT on her blog. Elizabeth and Rosie used to visit each other's homes. So I think they were becoming friends.

Elizabeth stood up to her fatness and she did not like it.
What does her weight has to do with the issue at hand?

Is ok for EH to constantly interrup because she's thin, but not ok for Rosie?

You are wrong. EH was a guest at Rosie's house on more then one occasion, they discussed it on the show..This is why people who never watched the show shouldn't critique the show. If I invite you into my home as a friend and then you stab me in my back, I am betrayed. If it was just a co-worker thing it would not be so hurtful.

The opposite thing happened to me, I HATED her on VH1 and started liking her when she got her show... until the TomS incident. I still don’t like her, a strong confident woman doesn’t need to be loud and disregard other people opinions.
But I truly believe she was hurt by EH not being as supportive of her as she was to E.

I can't believe she's gone early! i'm a little bummed as i was looking forward to her last few shows

Now if the heavens would be so gracious as to get Elisabeth off that show.....

=====

Have a good weekend everyone!!!

I doubt you'll be watching for long...my guess is the ratings will drop considerably. Who wants to watch Elisabeth and Joy? Unless they get someone who is controversial and interesting, The View will be history! I know I won't bother to watch anymore...

Def. a dying show! ::yes::

Has this been posted here yet??

Donald Trump has weighed in on Wednesday's war of words between Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Rosie O'Donnell, surprisingly taking O’Donnell’s side while still managing to insult both co-hosts of "The View" and to voice his opposition to the war in Iraq.

“On this one I think Rosie should win, but Rosie is not much herself. I think anybody that’s against the war in Iraq is the winner of the fight, because to justify the war in Iraq — only an imbecile could do that," he told "Extra."

About Hasselbeck’s political views, especially on the war in Iraq, he added, “Elisabeth is not a very smart person, she’s one of the dumber people in television. To see that she supports the war, and she’s solidly behind the war, give me a break.”

Trump later told reporters that Hasselbeck was "probably the dumbest person on TV."

She then went on to have her own magazine which I was a subscriber to by default. I was a subscriber to McCalls, so when it became Rosie, that's the magazine that I got. She had "artistic differences" with the staff and went so far as to tell her boss "she hopes she dies from cancer" The woman had breast cancer, Rosies mom died from breast cancer, and she could still be that hateful to another woman??????

I was a view listener because I work during the day, but I can listen to it on the radio. I loved the early shows with Meredith and crew. Once Meredeth left, it started to suffer. I don't think people realized how she kept the show together and moving until she was gone.

Rosie was a train wreck waiting to happen. She would bully people and then cry foul. Why is it ok that she bullied Elizabeth day after day, but yet the first time Elizabeth stood up to her she cried foul. I don't like Elizabeth. I think Rachel would have been a much better co-host, but now that someone pointed out that she was a stronger republican than Elizabeth, I think Rachel has a political science degree and has worked for several candidates. I see why they hired Elizabeth over her. Elizabeth was a celebrity, not an actual republican spokesperson that was well versed in the party. I think people from the republican party may have been coaching her to help her get her point across, but she still has a way to go. I think before Elizabeth started getting help from the right, Rosie didn't take her seriously, but now that she makes appearances on other talk shows, Rosie was threatened and decided to fight back in the way she does best. Cause a commotion and walk away.

I think Barbara needs to take a long look at what her show has become and either clean house and start fresh with a totally different person to fill Rosies roll and a new person to fill Starrs place instead of the revolving door of co hosts. I don't think Roseanne Barr is the right person, but neither is Kathie Lee Gifford. Barbara has a lot to do this summer if she is going to save the show.

She said to her, "That why you have cancer, you are a bad person, and bad people get cancer"

BTW I agree with everyhting you said except for the Meredith part. Although she did keep it civil and moving, she was /is SO boring. She would talk on forever about how her son was starting to hit puberty and smell, and she needed to tell him to use deodorant. Then the next day (after her poor pubescent kid probably freaked and cryed all night, she would come in crying and think out loud how maybe she shouldn't exploit her children on national TV to have something trivial to talk about. Blah Blah Blah. Boring.

:thumbsup2

And what a fittingly immature exit.....
.

Grown adults setting up their suposed friends and co workers on national Tv was equally as mature. I can admit Rosie is a little loud and a little crazy too but I dont put the blinders on cause shes doesnt support all my political beliefs. Whats fair is fair and just about everyone at the view is guilty of being a little sneaky , and a little immature

The bottom line is that Rosie was not "in charge" as she prefers to be. Elizabeth stood up to her fatness and she did not like it. Barbara did not do anything because she had been tired of Rosie's act for a while.

I'm not a Rosie fan, nor an EH fan, but what does Rosie's weight have to do with anything?

Me too. Meredith was my favorite, and I love watching her now on the Today Show with Matt.

I agree, they need someone with a journalistic background who doesn't take themselves too seriously.

Did I hear Soledad O'Brien's name floated around before? I always liked her on Weekend Today (I don't watch her CNN show though). Or maybe even Connie Chung (if she doesn't pick up her hubby Maury's habit of doing nothing but "babydaddy" shows!)

This may have already mentioned but I was shocked how low Rosie and her camp could go.
Apparantly someone had defaced all of Hasselback's promo pictures in the studio. Drawing mustaches and devils horns etc. The culprit- Rosie's personal staffer she brought to the show. :sad2:

She drew one mustache on a magazine picture, not a promotional picture and Rosie wasn't happy with her. Come on, if you're gonna trash her, stick to the facts.
