Elf on a Shelf Spin Off- ANGELS

I love the elf on a shelf idea! The only thing is we don't do a big santa push. My kids think of Santa like they do mickey- a lot of fun but that is where it ends.

Also we are doing advent conspiracy this year so I don't want to focus a lot on what they are getting.

So I was thinking about getting an angel with the premise of teaching the kids that God gave us the best gift ever- His Son Jesus and that we show our gratitude by giving to one another and those that need. The angel would be watching to see how they are giving to others and loving each other more

What do you think? Am I stretching the idea too far?

I think this is a wonderful idea! It really helps to direct the focus back on the reason for the season!

I have only one 12 year old, but I'm going to see how I can do this.....I'll also be getting my 4 and 2 yo niece and nephew one for their house!!

Here is the letter that will arrive on thnaksgiving. I need to find an angel now. I just don't know it is better to have one for each child or if a family angel is best.

Dear Alaina, Jayden, Elisha, and Kaya,

This year I am sending a very special visitor to your home. Christmas is my birthday and is a special time of year for your family and for all those who are my followers. It is a special time in Heaven, too!

I have chosen your family to be my special helpers this year. I need helpers that will show my love and kindness to those around them. Can you share my love with your family, your friends, and to people in my world? Can you give to those who don’t have as many blessings as you do? Can you do these things in My honor as a gift to Me for my birthday?

I am sending a special angel to watch over your family. Your angel will be watching you everyday and will fly home to heaven every night. Your angel has very special job so you must not touch or move it around. Your angel may surprise you by appearing in strange places and by watching you when you least expect it!

You should try and surprise your angel by doing extra kind and helpful things and by being very generous. I can’t wait to see all the ways you find to be a blessing this Christmas.
