Hi

How long does the EWP last? And where is a good spot to watch it from? I will be there Mar 30-Apr 2nd with DH and DD5 staying at CBR. How soon should we get there to find a good spot?

Thanks.... :flower:

the beach at any of the hotels around the lagoon you can see it from... its cute... probably lasts in total about 5 or 10 mins.. although i cant really remember.

Its not amazing though.. I wouldnt make a special trip to see it... go if you can combine it with dinner at the poly or GF...

You wont need to find a spot for it.. its not a crowd puller..
We have often seen it on the boat on the way back from the MK..

look at the above post for good viewing spot for ewp.

the electrical water pagaent normally lasts about 1 hour but is viewable from different locations at different times, like 10 minute increments. the ewp is on bay lake and is a 1,000 foot long string of illuminated floating creatures, it is viewable from the magic kingdom resorts, the polynesian, grand floridian, contemporary, wilderness lodge, ft. wilderness & from a distance at the mk boat docks. its nice to catch but not the extravaganza of the park firework parade shows.

ask at mainstreet usa cityhall in the park for times on the ewp. head to one of the resorts from magic kingdom by boat launch or bus.

If you will be in the MK area around 9pm, then just take the monorail to Poly or GF and head toward the beach. A dinner reservation at Narcossee's would be perfect.

That said, it isn't worth making an extra trip. :flower:

It certainly doesn't last one hour at each location.

We were very disappointed by it on our last trip. I thought it was much more than it was. It lasted ten minutes at the most and then moved on. It's one of those things that if you accidentally caught, that'd be fun, but not worth going to see. Sorry to be such a bummer about it.

i totally agree i dont know where someone got the idea it last an hour. it lasts about 5 minutes and we were also dissapointed by it. we stayed at the cr last oct and saw it every night after a few nights we didnt even watch anymore. like someone else posted if you happen to catch it great but i also wouldnt make a special trip to see it!!

We did a wishes cruise and our driver brought us right to it...on the water by ft wilderness, it was great. So if you are taking a wishes cruise...make sure to ask, if they don't say you're going that way :0)

Where can I find out what times the Electrical Water Pageant will be shown during March 30, 2005 and April 7, 2005?

Not worth seeing? I never miss viewing this, its been part of our trips for 30 years. People want fridges, discounts, thrill rides and what not and Disney has been putting this on since opening. Its free and you'll never see anything like this anywhere. Any of the resort beaches on Bay Lake or Seven Seas Lagoon are good places. Check at resort desk for times. Our last vist in December, the float barges are usually 2 strings but at that time it was only one; Cause was hurricane damage to some barges, thus shortened display, should be fixed by now. The music gets right in your soul and we go down to the beach most every night. I've heard on these reviews that HDD is not worth the money. Its worth every dime, never miss it and has not change since it started. Don't know what some people want or expect at Disney!

I so agree with you. It is a very special part of the magic! :wizard:

The EWP is a classic and we love watching it.

We've seen it from all of the Magic Kingdom hotels and every one of them has great views of it.

I think the poster who said it lasted an hour meant that it went out on a loop of the hotels that lasted an hour. Meaning you have an hour window to see it- you just need to know the times to go to each hotel. Actual time at each hotel is about 5 minutes.

I guess it just depends on what you're interested in or used to. People who like alot of "flash and bang" may find EWP boring, but I loved it! It's one of my fondest memories from my trip, and I'm glad that's one thing that hasn't changed.

Oh, it's a classic, reminiscent of my childhood 1st visit. Glad it's still up and running, just like I'm glad that It's a Small World looks like it'll be open soon.

I'd even get a kick out of seeing 20K Leagues Under the Sea again, even though it was very dated and mucky many years ago.

I agree - I remember sitting in my pjs at the poly and watching the show..and being mesmerized. It was total magic as a child. Now Im so happy to hear its still going on so I can bring my children. :goodvibes

Out of the several trips we've been to WDW, we've never seen this. I think this next trip we are going to make dinner arrangements and make sure we see it. I'm getting warm-fuzzies from those of you who love it!!!

In my opinion it is worth seeing, and the Poly is the best place to see it from. I never miss it.

We also love this water parade. We try to catch it from either the beach at the Poly or GF. It is not very long but it is something we always love to watch. We love the music and patriotic section at the end. We usually try to combine it with dinner at 'Ohana at the Poly (as this is our favorite dinner). I am not sure but I believe for the past year it has been shorter because some of the barges were damaged by one of the hurricanes. I am not sure if all the barges are back in working order. Do not go expecting to see something as wonderful or exciting as SpectorMagic or Wishes but it is worth seeing.

Do you have to be a guest at one of the Magic Kingdom resorts to view this? If not, where would be the easiest-to-get-to-place to view it? Thanks.
