Electrical Water Pageant?

"It's just a little gift of your staying around Bay Lake..." That's exactly how I feel! I had never heard of it and we were going back to FW on the boat. It was our last night of an incredible week at Disney (Easter Week 2006). All of a sudden this really pretty "thing" starts across the lake right in front of us. My three teenage kids and myself just stared in disbelief! It may be "hokey" to some, but it's one of my most cherished memories...I felt like it was a "going away" gift from Disney! :lovestruc

We've seen it many times from the beach at the Poly. It's always been very enjoyable to watch and if we are over there, we make sure that we get to see it. Like some of the other posters have said, it's a very nice added bonus. By the way vsimeone, that's a great picture.

I've never been to WDW at all but I have a theory about the EWP. We're going to go on our first night there right before having dinner at Kona, because I think from what I've read of the reveiws of this event it's kind of like what they tell you about kids and the MK. (Don't start out at the MK or everything after will be a disapointment). Maybe if you see the EWP before you have a chance to settle in and get used to Disney World's more technologically advanced acheivments, you might just find that this is a charmng and amazing spectacle. You know, before you've had your standards impossibly raised by the rest of the World. :goodvibes

Excellent summary. We had just finished dinner at O'hana's on Friday 10/6. Walked down to the beach to catch the fireworks from MNSSHP and lo and behold the synthesizer music and lights appeared. Started at 9. I must say, it is a bit disappointing. It made it's way to Grand Floridian next, I think. You could hear the music move around as it visited the other resorts. Fireworks were excellent from the beach. They piped the soundtrack out of some speakers at the Polynesian.

Curiously enough, it was heavily damaged in the last few years...I don't recall which hurricane, but after one of the big hurricanes - either last year or the year before...and a number of the floats/lights had to be replaced.

The length of time, I suppose, depends up on where you see it from, since it's a slow moving barge that circles around the lake. Depending on where you see it from, you might see it for longer in some spots.

When we saw it, we were over by WL. My impression was that maybe it stays at WL the longest, since it ends there. It hung around while the other boats got out of the way. I could be wrong though, since that's the only time I ever saw it.

It was kind of fun to see it, but generally, I'd rather be in a park at that hour.

They actually "park" the show at the various viewing spots and the same music track is played for each showing that night.

So it takes the same amount of time to view no matter where you see it.

I like this plan. We will be camping at Ft Wilderness this December. I think we will try this. Our only plan for arrival day is Hoop De Do, and that is at 9:30. HDD is about as low tech as you can get!
