We'll be there Sunday and we just decided to rent one of the electric car/golf carts. Has anyone done that? Is it easy to drive around and park? Thanks for any advice!
We did it and it was a lot of fun. I am completely blanking on the name of the rental company we used, but we made a reservation online and then called them when we were ready to debark. They told us where to meet them, picked us up and took us back to the rental place. We had a 4-seater for 2 hours (I think, could have been 4 hours) and were able pretty much to drive around the whole key. It was a nice way to see everything. Then we strolled back to the ship (maybe a mile) down the main drag. A nice afternoon.

Here is a company that if you mention that you are from the Disboard, they will rent to you at conch rates - ask to speak to Renata or here is her phone number also.
Her company has great service
(nope there is NO KICK BACK IN ANYWAY FOR ME OR THE SHOP)

Parking anywhere on Key West can be a problem...the carts are fun, but if you plan to get out, you still need to find a place to park it.
Another alternative (not as cute, but doesn't have to be parked...) is the trolley that circles the island. On the "normal" one, you can get off and on as many times as you'd like to see the sites. On the DCL one, you don't get off.

I do agree with the parking and I also like the bus - if I remember correctly, Renata can get some discounts for places to park = my 2 sisters, daughters, nieces, cousins and I are all getting together in Key West on the 29th and we are going to use them rather than the cars for that is even harder to park, but then since I do have cousins and nieces still in Key West, it will be good - we plan to really visit all the places we knew as a child although most of the places now are either not there or been replaced with mansions or something else but sure am looking forward to all the awesome memories of growing up in KW when it really was a paradise
Hugssssssssss

We used Conch on our last dis cruise to Key West. Had some interestingly tricked out rides. We still laugh about the cars. It was us and neighbors. We were in the "Lady Bug" and they were in the "Turtle". Got a lot of second looks driving around!
