Has anyone worked as an election commisioner to earn extra money? They are looking for them iin my area.... states $200 per day and it would be 5 or 6 Saturdays a year. Any thoughts??

Tey're called "judges" here, but I bet it's the same thing. I did it for several years before I had my son. I might go back now that he's older. It's fun, but LONG days a few times a year.

I just got approved to begin doing this for the Nov. election.

For years, as I hauled my kids and pushed a stroller to vote, I at least thanked the folks who were sitting at the polling place. Now that my kids are older, I want to offer my services.

No doubt the cash will be helpful--a tank or two of gas--but for me the most important reward will be that in order to have free elections, we need to have LOTS of citizens willing to provide this service, and now I will be one of the people doing that.

Be aware, at least in our area, the preference was for people willing to declare themselves either Democrat or Republican and each party was hoping that the new recruits would also be willing to work for the party. I made it clear that I am an independent voter and that I was only signing up to work elections.
