EE when the park opens at 8

So, I looked at the park hours for our trip next month and find that they both open at 8 and close at 10.
We planned to do EE since we'll be at CB and won't have EP. Do they open at 7, or before then? Gosh that's early.

Early entry will officially start at 7 am but they may start letting people in even before that time. I would plan to leave CB by 6:30 am. Grab a snack the night before or bring breakfast foods with you. You can eat them on the way or while waiting in line. EE is a great way to enjoy HP especially the Hogsmeade area.

I called the front desk at PBH hotel a couple of days ago to ask about how early we could check in. We're checking in on July 15. She said both parks have EE through August 2nd or somewhere around then. Also you can check in as early as you want, but the room most likely won't be ready until 3:00 or so.

Another question about EE, are any other rides/attractions open during the extra hour besides the Harry Potter stuff? Wanting to squeeze in Despicable Me during that extra hour if possible.

We were able to check in to our room at 5 am. Then you can get your express passes printed and ready before early entry. I've seen DM open during early entry. If you have express pass you can catch it later in the day with lower waits. If you have more than one day for EE then use one for Gringotts, one for DM and one for Hogsmeade.
