There will be many opportunities for photos on the ship; one of the major costs when you get on the ship will be your photos. The cruise ships just like the parks have their own photographers.
So what’s the deal:
• They do not charge for a photo and you can have as many as you want queues/lines of other guests permitting.
• The photographers are cast members.
• They tend to be very good photographers.
• You can see your photos usually toward the end of the day every day (though some later photo sessions will be next day).
• There are touch screen booths in shutters photo studio on deck 4 to see all your pictures attached to your stateroom.
• Your photos are referenced by your room number and name so make sure you remember it, although they also use the magic to the key to the world card as well.
• You can also see your photos so far as they print them out (usually) the day after (if they were taken after 17:00) and put them out so you can look at them complete with borders.
• You do not have to buy any photo.
• The photographers will use your camera as well or any CM will take photos of you don’t be shy and ask.

All photo packages are refundable; this means you can decide to change your package at any time through the cruise. So you could decide you only want one photo so buy that take it to your room as long as you can bring it back in good condition you can get your money back or upgrade to another package .
WHEN I UPGRADED I RETURNED MY PRINTS PREVIOUSLY BOUGHT IN GOOD CONDITION AND UPGRADED TO THE CD IT WAS PERFECTLY FINE AND DON’T FEEL FUNNY ABOUT CHANGING YOUR PACKAGE.
When I did the Transatlantic cruise I originally took at mixed photo package “B” then I saw how many pictures I had I ended up buying the CD.
CD Prices
Just like the Disney parks you can get a Disney CD. They do not have the borders the prints have. However it’s very easy to put borders on and there are tons all over the internet.
The resolution is around 3216 x 2136 of the digital images (based on my own photos from DCL in 2010).
The online website is here

Should be noted they are not Disney but an official partner. You can pre buy packages and after your cruise. Although I have never used it, I just bought the package on the cruise and they even linked my pre-boarding images to my account! .. it seems easier just to deal with someone at the shutters photo studios they are really helpful and friendly.
With the CD you can now purchase a CD that contains all photos taken on your cruise. The price is based on the length of cruise:
3-Night Cruise - $249.95
4-Night Cruise - $299.95
7-Night Cruise - $399.95
The likely hood is that our cruise it will cost over $399.95 for a photo CD. That is a substantial amount of money.
Is it worth it?
Well in the last Transatlantic West bound Cruise I had over 395 photos all of them were brilliant. I was really impressed and people that have seen them have said they looked like they had been done professionally and many are on my Itouch now or as desktops. So the answer is yes it’s worth the cost and how many times are you going to do this?
It also helps you can upgrade or downgrade your package if it no longer suits you. I also noticed that the photo cast members took much more photos of me when I upgrade to the photo CD to fill the disk up. So personally I will be buying the photo CD on my first day and enjoy filling it up with formal nights, character meet and greets etc.
If you’re not going to buy the prints and buy the CD then I suggest on the night before the end of the cruise have them download it for pickup of the disk on the same day (the lines will be mad busy on the last day- so start of the day) or for pickup on the day of disembarkation. You will not be able to have them burnt on the last day (disembarkation day). It should be noted that they are kept on file for 6weeks.
Hope you find that helpful.
