DH is heading up to the roof to blow the leaves out of the gutters. He'll bring in the last table umbrella and fill the tub with water in case we lose power, but that's it. We don't generally get flooding, although our soil is clay and can only drain so quickly; if it rains too much, the basement is vulnerable. It's the wind we worry about (trees/power lines).
Snow??? Actually, last year (Oct. 29) was the awful Nor'easter that left about a foot of heavy white stuff in our yard. Winter is NOT my favorite season, and snow in the autumn just stinks

Speaking of politics (the one and only time I'll mention it

), it's soooo nice that PA isn't getting bombarded with ads like the last major election (when we were considered a "swing" state). Other than a couple of close state campaigns, there are no commercials, no phone calls....

.
I'm finishing up magnets/door decorations today, and I'm really going to try to attack the FE gifts (already partially completed). Master packing and to-do lists are done (I had too many little notes stuck together from past cruises, all disorganized). Maybe we'll even start packing a bit today, if only as a nice little break from all the other mundane tasks we have to do around here on this nice, cloudy Saturday

. I also feel like cooking...there are definitely beef stew and (sugar-free) apple crisp in my future....
Christina...we're all with you and sending good thoughts

. Go ahead and eat anything you want tomorrow, but tell yourself it's only for that one day. It won't do any long-term damage, and there will be no need to feel bad about yourself. In fact, make his favorite dessert and enjoy it with the kids, if you'd like. Some things are just so much more important than worrying about calories. Wallow (love that word) in your memories and emotions. Then, Monday, let normal life (as it is now) take over again. I wish you well
