What if we did it as part of a mini cabin crawl and we took a shot at each cabin? I'd bring a couple bottles of Butterscotch Schnapps or pre mix a jug of Oatmeal Cookies. Too bad jello shooters wouldn't last cuz that would be fun too! Boy could that turn into a cabin crawl. What's everyone's favorite shot? :drinking1

Awesome idea! Maybe we could do both, one held the first week and one held the second week? I suggest the cabin shot crawl be held the first week or there might not be any booze left for me to share! Each cabin could print their shot receipe for people to take and at the end, we have a little shot bartending book. Hole punch each card and carry a ring to put them in. I am envisioning everyone wearing one of those mardi gras bead shot glasses around their necks!

I enjoy a dirty girl scout:

•1 oz. Irish Cream
•1/2 oz. Creme de Menthe, green
•1 oz. Kahlua
•1/2 oz. Vodka

Looks like I might have to add a shaker to my packing list!

What's an oatmeal cookie?

For the Sip through the Ship:

It could be set-up like "drinking around the World" at Epcot where eveyone gets a slip of paper that has the bar listed where you can write in what drink you had there!

What does everyone think?

Hope I'm catching everything....

We are still in for our same certificate order (3). I would prefer the captain's signature if that's possible.

I think I will skip sip through the ship or any other drinking activity. After being pregnant or nursing for the past several years, my system is so "pure" that even a small glass of wine makes me feel loopy! But y'all have fun!

I am relieved to know that the FE group will somehow be split.

Welcome back (to the board) to Jeff and (to land) to Tammy!

I'll have grandparents at our house for the next 10 days so hopefully their help will help me find some time to do more cruise related stuff.

First, I did update the web site last night to sync up the Roll Call and Certificate List with page 6 of this thread. Also updated the Excursions subpages to include screen captures of the DCL excursions, prices, age limits, duration off of their site for those that may not yet have access.

Susan and I would be up for some type of drink around the ship (more like sip around the ship for us). We are mostly wine drinkers. Perhaps instead of making all the bars on the ship in one night it could be a rotational thing where each sea day we meet at a different bar/club until we get them all? Just a thought. I'm not sure how well drinking and the stateroom crawl would go together. I think there are more people that would like to do the crawl than would like to do it if it were combined with alcohol. :scratchin

Yes. I called them today to take care of some other business and asked them if they knew when the formal/semi-formal and Pirates Night would be. Also asked them about the show schedule. They did not have what shows would be on what nights other than the obvious - "All Aboard" on the first night, "Remember the Magic" on the last night and pretty safe bet "Golden Mickeys" will be on a formal night. Other shows will be Toy Story and Disney Dreams.

Thank you so much! This helps a lot with planning our dining reservations and packing! :)

Things are picking up here!

I would love to have my canal certificate signed by the captain, hopefully if we grouped them all up it would be much easier on him. Then we can set up a meet near the end of the cruise to distribute them?

THANK YOU, thank you, thank you JEFF!! The dress theme nights info and excursion info you just added to the website can finally let me plan my dining/nursery hours. Yay so happy to get that info! I really didn't want to miss pirate night dinner as it will be my first aaargg maty!

Sip Around the Ship, Love it! My DH and I would totally do this one, although I'd have to plan to only drink at every other bar to make it if there are EIGHT bars? lol Another idea would be to do half the bars one day and the other half on a different day a few days later.

Stateroom Crawl Tour with shots I don't think I'd make two rooms anymore since multiple shots in one day no longer agree with my tummy. Now if it was a wine tasting or beer room crawl perhaps I would be in :-)

I'm about 50 pages behind on reading so I apologize if this has been posted and I missed it. I will add the info to the website so folks don't have to go searching.

Formal night #1 - Thursday Dec. 13th
Semi-formal night - Sunday, Dec. 16th
Pirate night - Tuesday, Dec. 18th
Formal night #2 - Thursday, Dec. 20th

News you can use! Thanks, Jeff. :thumbsup2

I am a little surprised that the first sea day isn't formal night, but I haven't been on any of the two-week itineraries. We sailed on an 11-night holiday cruise, but that was a last-minute one-of-a-kind itinerary for DCL. They actually changed it from the original cruise schedule. There is something very special about the holiday cruises; DCL does such a great job on the festive magic! pixiedust:

Foreign Currency

Looking over my notes from my last Panama Canal Cruise, I see that I did buy Pesos for the port of Manzanilla, Mexico, on board ship at Guest Services. Obviously, we're not going to Manzanilla this trip, but if you were concerned about needing local currency in any particular port, it can be had on ship. They would also buy back the leftover paper money, but not coins, as of that trip.

Web Cam Photos

If you have someone computer savvy at home, ask them to watch the various web cams on the day of our Canal Crossing. My (last cruise)roommate's DD captured some great screen shots from the web cams at the locks.

I would be up for this. When I travel with my DD, we go out for a drink together every night. My DH settles in early many nights (life of an IronMan, I guess), so it would be nice to know there is a group that I could join for a drink before I settle in for the evening. I certainly will miss the verandah on this cruise. DH will sleep, and I will sit on the verandah listening to the swish of the water.

We are doing the late seating - me, DH and DD-14 - if anyone would like to share a table with us please let me know.

We had great DIS tablemates on our recent Magic cruise - they made our dining experience extra special (we haven't been as lucky on our previous cruises - we've had non english speaking tablemates, a teenager from He**, and a bratty toddler who didn't stop whining the entire trip).

Table 33 on our last Med Cruise. We had a blast dining with fellow DIS boarders! :thumbsup2

Are we the only folks from KY? Surely we aren't the only KY Wildcat fans? BO BIG BLUE. DD and I will be usually be found when the Cats are playing at Diversions. Any members of BBN are welcome to join:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I live in Nashville, TN, but my family who will also be cruising live in New Albany, IN (just outside of KY). A few of us are UK fans, but a few are U of L fans. We can't all be perfect.

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Would LOVE to live in Nashville - I saw a bunch of little houses in a neighborhood I could just see myself living in - German something or other. Unfortunately, that's not going to happen - no mountains in Tennessee for my skiing spouse.

Working on my "swaps" for the scrapbook group. I started listing the potentiall photo opportunities that will result in 'pages' - There are a LOT of them.

Today, I'm going shopping for any end of season bargains - NOT that I *need* anything new, you understand.

Happy Day, All!

My daughter married a young man from Albany KY. He is a graduate of WKU. That's as close as we come though. :)

Count us in. We'd love to be your table mates. We don't allow whining unless it's in a glass and our teenagers are angles from heaven. :littleangel::littleangel: Summer is 14 and Autumn is 13 so I think it will be a good match. The girls said that if Brenna is interested maybe they can run deck 4 together. They wouldn't want to get out of shape by not training for 2 weeks. I have no idea where they get that from. Not my side of the family that's for sure. popcorn::

Aye Caramba! I've fallen behind on this thread again. Looks like I've got 17 pages to catch up on. :crazy2:

I know plenty of people that were excited to have the school year start. Me, not so much. Fall is a busy time for this PTA board member. Today will mark the fourth day this week I've been in the elementary school working on one project or another. Everyone told me that I would have more free time when the kids where both in school. Lies! :lmao:

Anyway, I'm happy to report that return flights and hotels for both ends of the trip have been booked. Brunch reservations have been made, and we are finally starting to look into excursions. This our fourth cruise, but this will be the first time we've done an organized excursion. In Nassau we've always stayed on the ship, on our Eastern we explored the islands on our own.

Hope all is well with everyone.

There is skiing in Gatlinburg, TN near Knoxville but not as much snow as up your way.

Sounds like you are talking about the Germantown area of Nashville. I am not familiar with it, but have heard of it.

I think it would be fun to have the captain sign it too.

Also, if anyone wants the countdown chain let me know! All I need you to do is PM me your email address and I'll send it to you. My two young children love taking one off each day. Plus, helps my 3 yr old when he asks me everyday if it's time to get on the boat. :)
