More Pa. people! .

Seems like there may be a few Pa folks here. This will be our second Disney cruise.
Our daughter will be 9 by the time of the cruise. She loves traveling and cruising and is a trooper. Her first long trip was when she came home from China with us. I guess after a 24 hour trip everything else is easy.

My question is why exclude the men? :snooty:

Can we all just drink together? :drinking1 :cool1:

Oh, and welcome to all the new cruisers! :grouphug:pixiedust:

I'm ok with the men joining in - Princes need to drink as well - I would love to see your crown and boa (well at least your pink outfit) :cool1:

Wow - China, now that's a long trip.

We are from PA too - only the other side of the state, right outside of Hershey. The only time we spent in your side of the state was several trips to Slippery Rock to tour the University - DD decided it was too far from home :)

Jeff, are you prepared to wear a pink outfit, complete with boa and tiara?:rotfl:

(oh, and be known as one of the "champagne girls"?)

Yes, it appears Pa. will be well represented. Our daughter will be 4 in Oct. We've had her on two Carnival cruises, but this is our first on Disney. I'm sure she'll feel right at home since we have annual passes for WDW.

I love a good martini too. Let me know if there is a martini tasting. I am a vodka martini drinker myself rather than gin.My husband would love a beer tasting. Are there any of those going? This sounds like a really fun cruise.

Me and me DH would like to sign up for the OE! Do I send a PM to someone or just tell someone here?

No fireworks for us! With all the fires around us they cancelled almost all fireworks here. Kids were disappointed but I reminded them that we would see fireworks at Disneyland next week when we go. So, they quickly forgot how disappointed they were. We are having friends over for a BBQ here. So, it will be a fun day.

Happy 4th of July to all our US friends!

Our oldest son is a 5th year senior at SRU, a convenient commute from our house. Did you like our outlet mall?

Yup, no fireworks here due to the fire danger in CO. Our town just announced the cancellation yesterday.

I think we will do some things in the garden tomorrow and otherwise try to stay inside and stay cool.

I am really interested in the Martini tasting! As I said before, I tend to order sweet "girly" drinks as a habit, leftover from my college days. I had a sip of a martini recently and actually liked it and would like to do more tasting and learning.

Also, something very weird happened to me....I started working out again and found I actually enjoy it! So I want to partake of fitness classes on the ship. I have been thinking about the tastings, movies, shows, talks, classes and everything else and now it doesn't seem like 14 days isn't enough to do it all!

Hi everyone! I've been lurking here for a week or so, reading all of your posts while DH and I work through our decision about whether to book this cruise. I think we are about ready to commit. You sound like a happy, bubbly group. I'll tell you more about my family in another post (gotta rack up the posts so that I can sign up for the FE!), but I'll mention that we are an adoptive family (one child from Vietnam and three from Guatemala) and homeschoolers, so it sounds like we have a lot in common with some of you!

Happy 4th of July to our Fellow American Cruisers. Fireworks or not, it is the spirit of family and friends, or just a day to kick back the shoes that make holidays special.

Happy 4th of July to all the Amercians!

I have a question of what to do!
Origianaly we would loved to book the IGT room, now we have booked an 11C GTY because there were no IGT's at that time.
Should we change to the IGT or stay put and hope for pixiedust on our GTY?
What are the chances of a free upgrade on this sailing???

TIA

Happy Birthday to the USA! party:

My daughter is getting married next Saturday so there are things to do around the house still to get prepared. We will likely go to one of the fireworks shows this evening.

Disney typically offers several wine tastings, beer tastings, and mixology classes so there will be plenty of other non-tiara, non-boa, non-pink tutu events. ;)

We can request a DIS-only event. On a previous cruise we had over 50 people in a wine tasting. A nice thing about having the lanyards and badge cards is you can recognize fellow DIS cruisers in these and other activities around the ship without it being a pre-planned event. :)

GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Happy 4th! It's so humid here you could drink the air - not going out for coffee on the patio this morning.

There are always martini and beer tastings. On the Hawaii, there was a 'something' tasting virtually every sea day afternoon, and some evenings as well.

What's the price difference? Unless it's substantial, I wouldn't bother, just on the off chance you might get an upgrade.

Pretty exciting about the Wedding, Jeff. How's the 'father of the bride' feeling?

Happy Day, all!

Happy 4th to my fellow USAers. This is a long holiday for us. First our country's birthday then on the 6th is our little girl's adoption day. Today will be picnics and fire works with friends and family then on Friday our immediate family will do something special just the 7 of us.(We have 3 bio-boys:dance3: 22,20,20 and a lovely daughter in law.:bride: We have referred to our boys as 'boybarians' for years.)
Sorry to hear some places had to cancel the fireworks. But Safety first!

Also wanted to add, We would love to order a Panama Canal Certificate. It will be perfect framed in our 'Adventure Room". And the Champagne Girls event sounds right up my alley!

Jeff, we had our first family wedding last summer. One of our twins got married so I got to be the mother of the groom. Everyone thought I would be a basket case since I am a very hands on mom (we homeschooled for elem school and stuff like that) Turned out better than I expected. At one point during the ceremony I looked at my son and saw one of his shoes was untied. I realized it wasn't my problem anymore! Enjoy your daughter's day and keep smiling!

I'm feeling fine. Katy (DD) spent the last 4 years at Auburn University during school and in Memphis, TN the past two summers doing pre-veterinary stints at the Memphis zoo (two years ago) and in a vet clinic (last summer) so I'm pretty used to her not being around. She seems happy and the son-in-law to be seems like a decent young man. He's a lieutenant in the 1st Infantry, currently stationed at Fort Riley, KS. She has been accepted into veterinary college at Auburn so frankly I worry about the strain of a long-distance marriage on her ability to do her best at vet school. He's got just over two more years in the Army to fulfill his commitment. We'll pray and hope for the best. :)

On another note, I jazzed up the Roll Call on the web site to include a place for a photo should folks like to send me one. I also added places to put stateroom number, whether you have early or late dining and whether you are celebrating any special occasions. I'll include several links where folks can email me too.

Happy 4th to everyone from Port Canaveral. I am sitting in my condo here looking at the cruise port thinking about the PC cruise. The Dream is in port leaving tonight. We'll probably go down to Grill's this afternoon to watch her leave. Back to Virginia on Saturday......vacation over.

Can't wait until December
