WOW! What a group! I am so glad to find an active group for this cruise. I frequent a different cruise board and the roll call there is slooooooow. 75 pages! Gonna take me a while to catch up.
I will start by way of introductions. I am Jamie, :hippie: I have been a major Mouse addict for years. I love cruises and since we tried DCL we are hooked. I am the mom of 4 ages 22,20,20 and 8. Our 8 year old daughter will be cruising with us.
Hubby is Matt :woohoo: also a Mouse addict so we are a good pair. We both love to travel and the Panama Canal has been on our list for years.
We are located near Pittsburgh. We plan on flying out the day before. So now I am off to try to catch up on the group activities.

Welcome aboard!

Booked our IGT today! There's no turning back now! pirate:
Just me and the wife (Liz Arjay) this time.
Looking forward to good times with everyone. :cool1:

Welcome to you two, too!:dance3:

The IGT rates are back! They were gone for a few days, though it was still listed on the specials page. But they are back on the stateroom list now.

party:Welcome to the new cruisers...glad you're aboard!
It's interesting to see that the IGTs are back and being advertised elsewhere as a "sale"....also interesting to see the 7A verandahs (least expensive) are back, as they disappeared around the same time the IGTs did a couple of weeks ago. How wonderful that people are still able to grab a bargain :thumbsup2. I can't wait to see what appears after the PIF date :confused3.

Wow, I go away for a few days and have 6 pages to catch up on! We just got back from a 3-day trip to Disneyland and California Adventure. We had a blast. We have DH's cousin's two girls visiting us so we took them down there for their 1st visit. We are exhausted from getting up at 6:00 each morning and not getting back to the hotel until after midnight each night. It was well worth it as we got on so many rides.

Also wanted to put in my :welcome: to all the new cruisers. What a group this is turning out to be. It seems like the majority of the ship will be DISers!

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Actually, dede, there have been cruise threads move faster than this - mostly the responsibility of a rabblerousing friend who incited people to try to get the first post on the page, last post on the page, and counting the number of certain icons that appeared. The content was mostly silly stuff, but that thread would run to 10 pages a DAY. We ran to 4 - 5 FULL threads before the cruise and that was only a 7 day :rotfl2: Made it darn hard for those who were actually trying to find information, though!

My personal goal is to post at least once a day, just to keep us bumped up to the first few pages, and occasionally ask a question to help us know one another better.

SO - Whatcha doing for the 4th of July?

Happy Day, all!

:welcome: glad to have you joinng us! We have a GREAT group cruising - it's going to be an amazing trip!

Okay, since it's very tropical where we are going, any need for Off! or similar bug spray/repellent?

I packed Off for our Fantasy Western cruise in April for our Costa Maya visit to the ruins. Having been there before, I knew it was a must! Everyone in our tour group used it and were so thankful I packed it. The ruins are in the jungle with lots of mosquitos. They might not be as bad in the winter though. I haven't been to the other ports but I do know mosquitos were the reason why so many lives were lost during the building of the canal so I will assume they will be around.

Bottom line: If you are going to the Costa Maya ruins and mosquitos bother you and you have the room in your suitcase...pack the travel size Off.

I am really enjoying all the posts. As a first time Disney Cruiser I am finding most of my questions answered. We are having family and friends over tomorrow. Very low key because it is hot and humid here in Houston and the Mosquitos have grown very very large.

My first seven night cruise had one of those very active threads. It made for a lot of fun before, and many of us are still in touch. In fact, at least one of those people is cruising on this cruise, and I'm working on getting two others to join us!

We're staying home in our air-conditioned apartment for the Fourth of July. A few years ago we used to go to our local festival and work at one of the booths. It's so hot and sunny that I was developing heat exhaustion by noon, and it was just not worth the aggravation. If the weather is good, we may walk over to the beach tomorrow night. From there we can see two towns' fireworks displays and one private display being held at a local golf course. If it's still too hot, we'll watch some fireworks on TV, maybe New York or Washington DC!

Ya, it's amazing that when I miss a day I miss ALOT. But it is fun getting to know so many people early. :)
We are planning to go racing and then stay for the fireworks show. Hopefully this year we can actually see the fireworks instead of taking the time to load a wrecked race car!

Just signed up and very excited to look forward to this cruise! I think this will be our 5th with Disney, and certainly the longest. Kids will stay home for this one, though. Will read through the posts in the next few weeks and get caught up, but I will definitely want to participate in the FE and likely most of the special events. This should be a great one... :goodvibes

I'm working on my Fish Extender today!

The only other time I participated in one was in December, so we just used a Christmas stocking as our FE. I know I could do the same again this time, but I really wanted to try my hand at making one. I think it's coming out pretty well, but I also think I've already decided I want a different one for this cruise. :rolleyes1 So I might be making another one soon. ;)

HI, My name is Chrissy and my husband Brian. We heard about this cruise a few months ago, but the IGT rate seemed to be gone, so we gave up on it, then decided to get the 11C and just go for it. So I booked over the weekend, but today I found the IGT rate again!! I see you all did, should have looked here first. Dreams is booking it right NOW. OMG so freaking happy to save almost $600. This is kind of a late 5th anniversary trip, so we are calling it our 6th anniversary which is in Feb. Brian was having cruise withdrawl. I do so miss my discount, but I think this is a just as good if not better.

I really need to sit down and do some research on the ports. We have done the 7 day Eastern and Western only. We were on board Dec 2010, so it will be good to be back and interesting to be on the Wonder.

We are both in our 30s. No kids. I have been in love with Disney since I did the CP in 1999. I then worked for Radio Disney for almost 9 years and was laid off in the fall. The saddest day of my life, well almost.

I look forward to getting to you know you all and seeing you on board!
we will have the late seating I am sure. I like that one anyway.

Thank you - we will add it to the list! Reading up on the history of the PC, thought about the 12 hours going through there, want the Central America mosquitoes to stay far away from us! We're doing the beach thing in Costa Maya, thankfully.

I am loving the comaraderie of this group. We would love to participate in the FE group. I tried to send a PM to the person in charge but don't have enough posts yet to send a message.

More Pa. people! Welcome aboard! We just joined the FE today, too.

Jamie,

I sent you a pm with my email address if you want to email me your information for the FE exchange.

Also, I know we can take take Uncrustables off the ship for an excursion (I have one picky eater - and that's probably as close as I can get to a PB&J/food that will travel well), does the ship provide any saltine crackers with meals? Like the little 2 packs of Premium Saltines?

I always pack the off towelettes - they don't take up much space, nor leak. I *think* i've seen packets of crackers. I always take a bottle of water and an uncrustable or a sack of almonds and a cheese stick when I go off ship. I DO not want to risk that fuzzy brain that comes from dehydration or lack of ballast in the hold, nautically speaking.

OOh RACING! What fun! the wreck? Not so much!

Welcome Aboard, Chrissy & Brian! Oh, getting laid off is tough! especially from a gig like that. Have you found something else?

I am loving the comaraderie of this group. We would love to participate in the FE group. I tried to send a PM to the person in charge but don't have enough posts yet to send a message.

Just keep swimming - er POSTING!

Tomorrow, we're going to a picnic for which I made that no-carb broccoli cheese salad. Then I got a call this morning to go down the street for coffee tomorrow morning, so it's going to be a busy day! Thunder showers are predicted, though, which could put a damper on things. (sorry)

These tastings sound like so much fun. I can find something pink and of course I have a tiara and a boa. Count me in. Thanks.

My question is why exclude the men? :snooty:

Can we all just drink together? :drinking1 :cool1:

Oh, and welcome to all the new cruisers! :grouphug:pixiedust:

In our last cruise, the men were included. We got to a max. and I do not believe everyone that wanted to go, was able to join in. From the pictures, it looked like everyone had fun. For me, it is tequila tasting, I am not big on champagne, unless it is Christmas morning, and I have to add orange juice which is defeating the purpose of truly enjoying the champagne. So I am going to opt out of this one again, but wish everyone a fun time.
