There are specific guidelines on bid retraction with ebay- threre is also a link for bid retraction (or look up bid retraction through the help link). Go through it ASAP; for ebay to allow it it has to be within 1 hoor of placing the bid and so many hours before the end of the auction.
Me again- log in, go into My eBay. On the left hand side scroll down to related links, you will see buyers resources. Click on that. On that page, in the white on the main screen is 'Retracting a Bid", first column, 5th one down. HTH
Thank you - I don't know if I'm still within the parameters but help isn't working on the ebay site right now....so I really appreciate the directions.
Thanks for all the help - the auction is within 12 hours of ending though so I couldn't do anything. Just FYI - I'm not a dead-beat bidder though It was just an unusual situation and the seller and I were in agreement. Of course I offered to pay listing fees - and I actually offered to go ahead and buy it if I win the auction.....but she wasn't requiring that and I didn't want to stop it from selling or her to have to do a second chance offer if I could just do a retraction. Oh well....it's going to work out.
Your seller still has the option to simply cancel your bid. If the two of you agreed on a retraction, I do not know why she would not just cancel your bid.
I think she is fairly new to ebay also - because she tried to just end the auction early and it wouldn't allow her to because of it being within 12 hours of it ending. So I think that she - like me - just didn't know what to do. She has under 100 feedback still so she hasn't been ebaying long.
