Ebates 20% back for Orbitz tickets

We just got back from an awesome trip to WDW this past weekend and had no problem getting my tickets. I did already have them linked to my MB and then after I used them at MK that day, I got PAP. Worked out great!:woohoo:

Quick ?...I already have my magic number and my tickets are linked on my MDE, do I still need to physically pick up tickets somewhere or will they automatically be on our magic bands?

Thanks guys!

You do not need the tickets. We went ahead and got ours just in case there was a problem but as long as they are linked to MDE, you shouldn't have trouble.

Since MDE and the MBs can be a little "buggy", I highly recommend picking up the physical version of the tickets at some point during your visit. It never hurts to have them and they can be a huge time-saver if you happen to encounter a problem where the MB doesn't show your ticket.

I agree, I like to be prepared. Especially, if you weren't using them for this trip. I got ours last week, but we are not using them until December so I definitely wanted to have the physical tickets. I do plan to link them later to my MB's too.

I spent 2 hours on the phone yesterday trying to link my Orbitz tickets to MDE.
I wasn't reading this blog since I bought the tickets in Feb. so I didn't know about the Magic code. I wanted to get everything ready for my June trip. I call Disney and gave them the "will call conf. #" on the Orbitz receipt. Nobody could find it at Disney. I was transferred 5 times. Finally someone said to call Orbitz. I called and Orbitz kept reading the instructions about how you have to present the voucher at guest services. Orbitz is located in South America so everyone had an accent. So difficult to understand. She finally gave me the magic code and I made her call Disney. This was so frustrating. The magic code starts with the letters of your first name. After 2 hours of calls, I finally got it on my MDE.
Get the magic code and call Disney right away and link it to MDE. I don't even know if this was worth the $200. ebate reward.

Should have just sent Orbitz an email. They responded back within 24 hrs with code.

Agreed. Just send an email with your Orbitz booking number requesting your magic code.

Super easy and response came within 24 hrs.

This is all starting to hurt my brain! :rotfl:

I bought our tickets, got the magic code, and linked them in MDE. When I bought the tickets, I put in the dates of 8/1-8/30 (our trip was planned for the last week in August). We've since had to move our trip dates up, and we're arriving on 7/30. Do you think I'll be able to use the tickets to go to a park on 7/31, or do you think we'll have to wait until 8/1? It's not going to be a huge deal if we can't go on 7/31 (and luckily I had the foresight to use the whole month of August as our dates in Orbitz), but it would be nice. I figure we'll try anyway, but just wondering if anyone knows for sure?

Your tickets are linked in MDE, so if you have a MB you will not have a problem entering the parks before the dates that you gave Orbitz. If you are staying offsite, then you will absolutely need the physical ticket to get into the parks since offsite guests do not get MBs. I'm not sure what would happen in that case. I would hope that you would be able to pick them up since you already have them linked in MDE, but no one has actually reported that they were able to do this nor that they were unsuccessful.

Thanks! We'll be at the Yacht Club, so hopefully we're good to go. It's just a quick walk to Epcot anyway, so I figure even if something goes wrong, we'll just head back and spend the day at the pool.

I have linked my magic code to MDE. Do I still need to exchange my Orbitz voucher for passes?

EDIT: I apologize. I guess this has already been answered (a lot), and it looks like I don't *need* to pick up the passes. Can anyone think of a reason that I *should* pick them up?

Yes, as noted above, if anything goes wrong with your MB at the park (and it's been known to happen), you don't have to stop the fun right away to handle the problem. You can pull out the physical ticket in order to enter the park or redeem your FP+. Spending time at guest services to fix it could take hours, eating up valuable park time and causing your family to miss FP+ return times and ADRs.

In a perfect world, you would never need the physical ticket. My Magic+ is far from perfect.

I would pick them up anyways " just in case" there is a glitch in the system. But I am the type of person that likes to err on the side of caution.

Anyone have success picking up tickets before your date? I am going to try later this month.

They only pay quarterly.
They sent me my check early. It arrived a couple of weeks ago. It was a surprise and probably not a common occurrence. I'm guessing that it was because a.) it was a decent size check and b.) I've been a member almost from the time they started.

Wish they had an other to get your $$ faster via another route (paypal). I have a couple hundred in there waiting on 5/15. My trip will be over, so guess that $$ will help pay off the CC bill!!

You can get it via paypal. Mine usually comes about a week before a payout date.

You just need to change your account settings. My payment always comes through Paypal unless I choose an Amazon gift card :)
