Ebates 20% back for Orbitz tickets

I just checked and it says 6.5% on activities now.
I got a notice saying I got my ebate on my orbitz hotel reservation. Changed to POFQ with their discover code. I had to cancel it and rebook after they charged me for DD so I figured I wasn't getting the ebate because I didn't remember booking through the ebates link the second time, but apparently I did! Every little saving counts!

Sorry for being a newbie, but can you explain a bit more? How do you get into the park then without a ticket and simply linking the Orbitz + code to MDE? We're not staying at a Disney property, so there's no linking to a hotel wristband.

How does one enter the park simply by linking their Orbitz code? I checked the MDE app and there is nothing there that shows your ticket or any code or leads one to believe there is a way to enter the park from your smartphone?

Orbitz sends you a voucher that you take to the ticket booth to redeem.

You missed the conversation I believe - someone said that you don't need to get a physical ticket, and linking the Orbitz code to MDE will allow you to get into the parks without redeeming your voucher for a physical ticket. I was asking how that is possible if you aren't staying on a Disney property where they will link it to a wristband.

Oops! Sorry. I guess I missed that. I just assumed if you're staying onsite than you link it to your MDE and if not than you take the voucher to the ticket booth.

I don't think you can do that unless you have a magic band. You will need to go pick up your tickets at the park.

Apologize if this has already been addressed in the thread - but I just wanted to clarify. The only benefit from linking the Orbitz tickets to MDE is you can select your FastPass schedule, right? You still have to physically go and retrieve your tickets with the voucher at some point, correct? Thanks!

I think that you are slightly misinformed.

Offsite guests cannot select their FP+ in advance (at the moment) even if they have linked their tickets to their MDE account. Onsite guests can customize their MBs and FP+ selections prior to their arrival and will receive their MBs about a month before their check-in date. Their tickets, room key and the ability to make purchases can be accessed by tapping that MB to the RFID readers. Offsite guests do not get MBs at this time. Some have been invited to test the FP+ advance reservation system, but they will need their RFID-enabled ticket, which has been linked to their MDE account, in order to use the FP+ system.

IOW, if you are an offsite guest then you must pick up a physical copy of your tickets even if you have already linked them in MDE.

I went to guest relations yesterday at magic kingdom to pick up my orbitz tickets. I did not want to link them to my magic bands yet, so I wanted the physical tickets. I did email orbitz for the magic code just to have anyways and that was very lucky! I brought my voucher and when the CM looked at it she said none of the numbers would work for her and didn't look like Disney numbers. Fortunately I had the magic code on my phone and gave her that. She said that was the right number and proceeded to give me my tickets. PHeW. So my advice to everyone is to get your magic code even if you are not planning to link tickets right away.

I got tickets from Orbitz and didn't know about this magic number back in October and had no issues whatsoever getting tickets. I presume you hit an unknowledgable cast member perhaps?

Back in Sept., my Orbitz voucher had a bar code on it. The voucher that I have from this recent purchase does not. It's possible that the PP just got an uninformed CM or it could be that the ability to pull up the "magic code" is not readily available for each voucher.

I will be heading to Disney tomorrow and I plan to pick up my tickets in the evening. I will be firing off an email to Orbitz today just in case there is a problem. This is not going to be a very long trip and I don't want to waste precious time trying to redeem a voucher for tickets.

I had the same problem when I tried to pick up my Orbitz tickets Friday night at GR at IG. The CM said none of the #s on the voucher would pull up my tickets. It took 2 CMs and a call to ticketing to get it straightened out. Your suggestion of getting the magic codes from Orbitz is very good advice.

Keep us update on how pickups go. I am not going until sept (date on my tickets) and am hoping for no "glitches" in picking up!!! I ready have my magic code. And if anyone has success picking up tickets prior to the orbit trip date, please let me know!!! We go in April so if I can bang it out and get them early, that would be awesome, if I could be that lucky!!!!

The vouchers this year look different from the vouchers I received last year....... no bar codes for them to scan.

I agree, maybe she didn't know how to " look it up" but since I had the magic code and she found it that way, I was satisfied. If I didn't have the magic code I would have asked her to get a manager. I am like you though I didn't want to waste too much vacation time on it. I was already there for awhile because I got PAP for my daughters and TIW card too. I was just happy I got everything I wanted on my first day on my first stop. I appreciate your advice and knowledge on the tickets that you gave me.

I think if you have your magic code you will be able to pick up your tickets before your date, but that is just my opinion. My date was this week. I was fortunate when I ordered the orbitz tickets my trip was only about a month away at that time.

Has anyone had any success adding days to the orbitz tickets yet? If so how much was it? I'm really hoping to add 1 more day.

We leave Friday and plan on upgrading our tickets to APs. I will let you guys know how it goes. :rolleyes1

I think I may give it a try with the magic code in April and see if they can pull the tickets. Never hurts to ask, worst they can say is the tickets aren't available, but you would think if you paid and have the voucher and code, you should be able to get them anytime. But that would make sense so, ha ha ha, all bets are against it!!
