Ebates 20% back for Orbitz tickets

Here, Here... I am wanting to know the same info!!! Pretty please, someone chime in!

I spent 2 hours on the phone yesterday trying to link my Orbitz tickets to MDE.
I wasn't reading this blog since I bought the tickets in Feb. so I didn't know about the Magic code. I wanted to get everything ready for my June trip. I call Disney and gave them the "will call conf. #" on the Orbitz receipt. Nobody could find it at Disney. I was transferred 5 times. Finally someone said to call Orbitz. I called and Orbitz kept reading the instructions about how you have to present the voucher at guest services. Orbitz is located in South America so everyone had an accent. So difficult to understand. She finally gave me the magic code and I made her call Disney. This was so frustrating. The magic code starts with the letters of your first name. After 2 hours of calls, I finally got it on my MDE.
Get the magic code and call Disney right away and link it to MDE. I don't even know if this was worth the $200. ebate reward.

2 hours of frustrating calls was not worth $200?? My job is more dofficukt than that, and I make less than $100 per hour.. and no tax on your $$. Just saying....

I already have my tickets linked...I went the magic code route. ;) They are happily showing up, assigned to the right people and everything!

I plan on picking up the tickets at Downtown Disney's kiosk the day before we go to the parks. Should I be able to go to the MK on day 1, and while at the magic kingdom, add a day to all of my MYW passes?

You don't have to pick up the tickets of they are already linked.

Why can't they put the magic code on the receipt. I paid $1000.
Because Disney has to issue that number AFTER Orbitz submits the will call information to them. Your receipt is generated right after you make your purchase. If you were to simply wait until your arrival at Disney to claim your tickets, the will call number on your receipt should work with no need for you to have your Magic Code. But once you decide that you want to link the tickets to an MDE account prior to your arrival, extra steps are needed.

Personally, I had no problem obtaining the Magic Code when I emailed Orbitz and I had no difficulty picking up the actual tickets at an EPCOT main-entrance ticket window this week. It's not Orbitz's fault that you didn't keep up with this thread after you made your purchase, nor is it Disney's fault that they did not have the ticket information for a will call ticket that is not even supposed to be picked up until next month. If you want to place blame on someone for wasting several hours of your time, then take a look in the mirror. A quick and easy solution to the problem was posted here multiple times if you had taken a few minutes to bother reading.

Did your tickets that you picked up say the number of days in them? Just wondering because mine don't. Of course, this is also my first time getting the plastic card tickets. In the past, I have had the tyvek ones and the number of days were printed on the back of the tickets.

No. There's nothing on the ticket that indicates the number of days, WPF&M, hopping or no-expiry on the ticket. I used a Sharpie marker to make a note on the back so that I know what's supposed to be on the ticket. It also shows the number of days on the ticket in your MDE account once the ticket is linked.

Thank you! That is a great idea. I don't want to connect them yet. Going to wait until closer to our next trip.

If you're staying offsite and don't have a Magic Band, you still have to pick up those tickets. There is no other way to enter the parks or obtain your FP+. You tap your ticket instead of your Magic Band.

People need to know that buying tickets from Orbitz is not easy and sometimes not worth the trouble. If I waited until I went to Disney I would have wasted 2 hours of my vacation. Reading a blog is not a requirement of buying from Orbitz.

But if you just went to a ticket booth within your window (that you put in when you purchased), it wouldn't take 2 hours. It took us less than 5 minutes to pick our tickets up.

Honey, you are preaching at the choir! People who are reading this thread, which is on a message board (not a blog!) already know about the problem and how to resolve it. YOU knew about the deal because YOU read about it here. YOU learned about adding the ticket to MDE by reading the disboards or another Disney fan website. It's not intuitive.

Let's face it, tracking down the discounts involves diligence and perseverance. When you hit a snag, you go back to the source where you first heard about the deal so that you can learn how to iron things out. You don't come back to the same people who helped you and complain that you wasted a lot of time trying to fix something for which other people had generously posted their solution a long time ago. You missed it because you didn't bother to come back here to follow up on the deal. That's not our fault. It's not Disney's fault. And it's not Orbitz's fault.

well, I am starting to feel stupid.... so forgive me for more questions..... I notice the ebates is down to 6.5%. I may grab another ticket, and keep the others I bought elsewhere in reserve for another time(the other site raised prices) and just use the orbitz ticket this upcoming trip. (my personal way to plan for a future trip)
But I am still confused. I am still 99.9% sure of my dates, but has anyone gotten a clear answer to 'what happens if I can't be at WDW to pick them up on that date I input to Orbitz?
Also- I have been ignoring the whole MB thing, hoping it would go away:rotfl: but I am now thinking, what happens if I am staying onsite for a couple of days, then split stay? If I buy an Orbitz voucher, and I DON'T have a MB, would I then go into the MDE a month before my trip, and attach the number? I want to pick up regular ticket cards. Can I do that, and still register for my rooms, register my orbitz voucher tickets, and make FP+ at that time?

I cannot answer what will happen if you don't pick up your tickets on the dates specified. The two times that I have used Orbitz for tickets, I managed to get there during the window that I had stated.

If you stay onsite for a couple of days and then move offsite, you will get a MB for your onsite stay. You can link your tickets to that MB through MDE and you will be able to make FP+ reservations for your day of arrival at the Disney resort through the day of departure. Offsite guests cannot book FP+ prior to arrival at this time and a glitch in the system that permitted guests to make a single night's "throw away" reservation - in order to get the 60-day FP+ reservation window for their entire time in Orlando without staying at a Disney resort the whole time - has been fix. Your tickets will still be linked to MDE and you will still be able to use your MB to obtain FP+, but you will no longer be able to use the MB for making room charges after your checkout day.

You will also be able to link your ticket voucher to MDE prior to your arrival, but you must contact Orbitz for your Magic Code, because none of the codes on your voucher will work. Once you have that Magic Code, it is very easy to add the tickets in MDE. You will still be able to pick up your physical tickets at a ticket window by using the voucher. I strongly suggest doing this, even though the tickets are supposed to be linked to your MB. You just never know when the system will decide that the tickets aren't there (I've seen a number of posts on the TPAS board where this has happened). So, it's a good idea to carry your tickets with you even if you have MBs.

Good to point out, Marionette. As we are less than 2 weeks away from our trip, I have been reviewing this thread (mostly posts like yours!) to make certain all my basis are covered before I leave. I will be printing every form/voucher/confirmation imaginable for tickets, room, etc. so that I'm prepared. I think that being over prepared and knowledgeable is the key!

I was very happy that I got my magic code from Orbitz. Even though, I was not planning to link my tickets now, I wanted to have the code anyways. When I went to pick up my tickets during the time period indicated the CM was not able to find them with the Will call or Orbitz number. Luckily, I had the magic code with and BINGO she found my order. I got my tickets now, but am very thankful for all of the information on this board that helped me with the process.
